You mean lengthened? The Flanker is slightly longer and wider than the MMU(21.9m vs 21m+14.7m vs 14m). If someone else can do a prettier job (I suck at photoshopping) please by all means go ahead. We need more people in this thing. Turk military online mill has too many complainers and too little doers. We should be analyzing every single shred of info being put out there but alas.

Lol you just covered like 99% of military forums regardless of nationality.

Yup, I'm sure. You can even see the difference with naked eye. The design got shortened and the fuselage got wider and thicker.

The changes with the thrust you mentioned happened around 2017-18 when they were still planning to use an engine based on EJ-200 so it's old news.

The national turbofan is most probably going to have ~10% more thrust than F110-GE-129 so around 33.000 lbf each.

@sequ Don't you remember when the mock-up got first revealed in Farnborough 2018, everyone who saw the mock-up commented by basically saying it's freaking huge?

Isn't it safer to look at F110 for now?
National turbofan appears to be quite far in the future.
That's what is happening bro, this Turkish military news thread is basically all a discussion about the F110 and the TF-X, you should go back to the page 1 and start reading from there.

The prototypes (7+ airframes) and the initial blocks are going to use the F110 and the national turbofan will be available later on. So around 2033-35 TF-X is going to switch to the national engine.

Have they made a new mockup yet? If not maybe there are additional changes that are being kept under wraps too. We'll know by 2023.
Bro TAI keeps using older mock-ups of not just the TF-X but also other projects even though they got outdated. Like, the mock-up of the T-929 heavy attack helicopter got revealed at IDEF 2019 I think but the current design is so much different now.

I tried my best with my paint skills to scale the size of the Flanker with the MMU, @CasualObserver @Philister :

They are both 21m in length and 14m spanwidth. If someone else can compare them visually better than I did, please go ahead by all means.

We can clearly see how large the horizontal stabilizers are on the MMU.

Just for reference raptor is 18.9 meters from nose to rear stabilizers.

Do we have any news about the national turbofan project? Any image would be wonderful!

Temel Kotil visited Malaysia again. He really wants to sell the Hurjet to Malaysia. I admire this eagerness and ambition:
The weirdest fighter competition in a while.
I personally doubt that it's weird enough for a paper plane from a green producer to win.

On the other hand, other remaining competitors are just as crippled.

Apparently Malaysia wanted to pay in palm oil. That dissuaded Pakistan from the tender.
