Given how the prototype/Block 1 has been frozen, since early construction is already ongoing, Pakistan will probably be paying money/building some parts for the time being until Block 2 comes into the picture.

I think he (Kotil) said it in a wishful way and ended with saying 'If God wills it'. I think the chance is very high that Pakistan will eventually enter this project. But when?

But the question is, does the PAF really need a twin engine heavy fighter?

Btw, TAI has a division in Pakistan with engineers working on UAV's. They could expand on this cooperation for the MMU.

Yeah I too think that the deal would be a lot more likely if the TF-X stayed a medium weight stealth fighter.

Maybe it's a sign of the exact opposite?

If there was any primary candidate for Pakistani stealth fighter, it was the FC-31.
Which is exactly a medium-weight stealth fighter...yet here we are(though i am not sure how much weight those decisions have at this stage).

Just a hypothesis:

- China reluctant to provide J-20 to the PAF
- PAF joins MMU and manages to negotiate design modification rights because US doesn't allow F110 export
- Asks WS-10C from China, China offers it because of WS-15 coming online
- TAI, PAC and AVIC team up to integrate WS-10C into MMU
- PAF gets MMU with WS-10C earlier than TAF gets its mass produced MMU

Again, it's just a hypothesis.

Sorry, Kotil said that the MMU is a Turkish-Pakistani fighter and it got confirmed by the AVM (seated next to him) which said that Pakistan and Turkiye are now collaborating on the MMU. Big reveal IMO.
I'm still sceptic about it, no way at this stage I'm expecting Pak to be an equal partner on this project, if they joined earlier like in 15-16, that was maybe possible, but even then they didn't and still don't have the financial and industrial capability to contribute much hence I think they'll be a 30% partner at best and eventually a TF-X(P) variant is going to come out of the oven.

I don't expect them to be an equal partner too, but there is some work offset to Pakistan. The chance is high that they'll eventually enter the MMU project as a partner although I think such a large fighter is overkill for them.

Where they have a need in in this decade is helicopters and UAV's. TAI can offer them various helicopters for local production. TAI is eager to make this happen. The same is with Malaysia.

Again, it's just a hypothesis.
You sure that China will allow a NATO country to access it even if it's just for integration-processes only? This is just a wet dream bro.

Possible. Given the recent experience Pakistan had with the heli deal due to engine ban from the West, I could see them including a Chinese engine for Pakistan

On the other hand though, Turkey is a NATO country. Dunno, this is too confusing. Hopefully we will have more news regarding the engine
