Read carefully. I said "Without EUV, forget about producing anything smaller than 14nm." Also, how does you being a longtime member have anything to do with this? Do you expect people to defer to your online "seniority"? I advise you to drop this ridiculous arrogance.

you are quite aggressive for your level of knowledge .. perhaps to disguise it :(

is 10nm smaller than 14nm ? ... all 10nm process is not EUV .... :p

You don't need anything smaller than 14nm. It's good enough.
A example is a window XP system still good enough if you can made those chips for replacement due to aging.

I have a feeling 7nm is the last stop for an economic viable solution.

They encounter alot of unpredictable quantum effect at 5nm and may not be viable anymore

nope, there are already plans for 3nm in 2021 by Samsung

In 2018, IMEC and Cadence had taped out 3 nm test chips

10nm and 7nm production without EUV is inefficient and TSMC will start fabricating with EUV in less than a year. It's cost-prohibitive not to use EUV, which is why SMIC ordered its first EUV system along with every other major fab.

ahaaaa .. another excuse .... it shows your level of knowledge of being aggressive ;)

I am DONE! with you .. I don't want to waste my time arguing with you

Do not reply as you are already in my ignore list

That you felt the need to make an empty post declaring who you added to your ignore list shows how inflated your sense of self-importance is.

Test chip is nothing, its a very basic SRAM memory. if you cannot get to 80% yield at production of a very complicated chip then it's not economic viable.
None has demonstrated 5nm production woethy, why you jump the gun and mention 3nm?

Again, I mentioned 7nm is the last stop because at 5nm, they encounter alot of non convential electrical effect, they are qunatum effect, Heisenberg uncertainty principle.
The gate oxide is so thin, electron can tunnel through it. Uncontrollable, reaching the physical limit.

Each EUV machine is about $100million. Few chips ever need that.

I think people are overblown to focus strictly on nm issue.
US has tons of semiconductor companies only Qualcomm, Apple, Nvidia, has any product below 10nm . Intel stuck at 10nm.

What about the rest of them? especially Analog chips companies like Texas instrument, Linear, Maxim, Fairchild, Analog Device, Cypress they are still using Bipolar technology from 70s and will continue to use it now and in the future. Because analog chips needs to high power, fast. Going sub nm means dimnishing power supply and not fast enough and also small dimension means too easily breakdown. Triquint use GaAs special process. IGBT tech use fast, high power bipolar tech. Analog chips used for electric cars and electric catapult for carrier. China should concentrate on those.

China said its wants 80% self sufficient and 14nm/10nm is the last stop it needs EVER for digital chips and Analog chips it just needs to have the old process and tech.

Larry Kudlow mention US and EU want to allied against China on trade. China need do something, last thing they want is for EU and US get together to pressure China
The EU-US truce is already in danger of collapsing- it's only a truce on declaring new tarriffs, and due to Trump's bizarre fixation on smokestack industries, that idiotic auto tariff is probably going to through by next year at latest.

Let the blinking begin...

If trade with China is all agreed upon as bad for America, why would they secretly cut tariffs? US politicians have lied so much and think about their own interests only they can't come out against Trump publicly so they have secretly do this. What will Trump do is the next question? Will he say and do nothing or will he attack it publicly? That'll say a lot.
