The War in the Ukraine

They do not even have 100,000 in Ukraine presently...
Yep most probably. A lot are waiting in Belarus and elsewhere, they are probably rotating them but in any case, an army forces is mainly build on logistics manpower than fighting manpower. Mechanics, transports, medical staff, supply management, etc. Even if we take into account LPR DNR troops, i don't see their number enough to rely on manpower to guard the line of contact and it's why we see so many pontoon warfare. 300 000 more doesn't means it's all infantries, tank crews and artillery gunners. We will see if they can push with these to another geographic frontline.

I think at this stage of the conflict it very much is an open question as to how well Russia will be able to equip and employ their new reservists.
It could go both ways though.

We have seen movements of tanks and other equipment before that hasn't been seen in the frontlines yet, from T-80's to more T-72's. Also we would have to start taking into account if the Russian industries does or does not have the capability to ramp up, which is a massive question mark in peace time, let alone during war.

Even if the Russian troops are only 100,000, the announced losses correspond to about 6%... It is still very very low... And if they were real, they would be very very effective, an additional 300,000 would not be justified unless they wanted to conquer all Ukraine.

These numbers could refer to only fully identified KIAs, or simply to ethnic Russian personnel, not including other ethnicities such as Buryats, Dagestanis or Tuvans.

Otherwise, it would be the war where the highest percentage of officers of an army have died in combat... Since nearly 1,200 Russian officers killed in combat have been confirmed, which would represent no more and no less than 20% of the total casualties announced by Russia...

If their army is like the Canadian army... we have a ratio of 16,4% of officer in 2021 and 9,7% of Warrant officers. So for the same ratio of 16,4% it would be no more than 7228 kia... so the ratio of 20% is not far off.

Russia on Wednesday released 10 foreign prisoners of war captured in Ukraine, following a mediation by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi foreign ministry said.

The list includes American, British, Croatian, Moroccan and Swedish nationals, the ministry said in a statement, adding that a plane carrying the prisoners landed in the kingdom.

"The relevant Saudi authorities received and transferred them from Russia to the kingdom and are facilitating procedures for their respective countries," the statement said.

There are other problems, some sources claim protests against this partial mobilization are taking place

There wre protests already when the war started so this isn't particularly new, though. The ironic part of it is that the west putting Russia in an informative black hole will probably make it easier to crack down harder on the protests this time around.

Take it with a huge bag of salt:

Looks like there have been backdoor negotiations.

This isn't a good look for Russia. Westerners can come to your country and commit terrorist acts against your people and they get a free holiday in a 5 star Gulf Arab hotel.

Complete nonsense. If Russia uses nuclear weapons it would be a massive escalation and I cannot seem them justifying it. The US didn’t use nuclear weapons in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan or Iraq despite facing losses. So I don’t see why or even how Russia could justify using them. Putin would likely become an international war criminal, especially if the weapons end up killing thousands of non-combatants.

Imagine the disrespect Putin has for his own soldiers. How many Russian soldiers have these mercenaries killed?

And now he lets them go away without punishment. Sends a good signal to the enemy. If you are white foreigner, fight us, kill our soldiers and when we capture you we will send you back to your countries with a Saudi Arabia 5-star hotel stop lol

If Russian leaders themselves don't respect Russian lives then don't expect anyone else in the world to respect them too

The US didn’t use nuclear weapons in Korea

Not because they didn't want to, though. MacArthur was begging for it

With the amount of indiscriminate bombing they did on Vietnam and Laos, including chemical warfare, nuclear weapons would have been largely redundant and achieve just as much though.

Putin would likely become an international war criminal
He already was branded one, regardless of what he does or doesn't do, so its not like that would make much of a difference.

Quite a few destroyed or abandoned vehicles. Mostly BMP-1/2, a T-72 possibly, and there are other vehicles hard to tell apart since they are too far away and messed up.
