The War in the Ukraine

They have some good Intel those russkies

There must be so many informants just littered throughout the regime who are feeding intel because they understand what's at stake if the regime is able to prevail and want no part of that

There is probably a lot of others willing to give you info for cash. Article is from RT but it refers to Ukrainian officials saying it.

According to his post on Facebook, the suspected grifters made off with “almost all humanitarian aid” sent to the region, selling the goods through local retail chains. The total volume of what was stolen amounts to 22 sea transport containers, 389 freight train cars and 220 trucks, Shevchenko claimed.

389 freight train cars and 220 truckloads of goods being stolen by Ukrainian officials is insane. The Russians probably already knew in advance what the Ukrainians we’re planning well ahead of their offensive with how rampant corruption is.

I was hoping to see a press release from Elen regarding the ZNPP assault. I haven't been able to find much of anything. I'd bet they are just seething with anger right now. Much like that meme with Hitler freaking out on his terrified generals in the bunker. Hehe

All that elite SAS NATO training in the UK and this is the result. Big Ooooofff

I just hope Russia is going overtime on ISR and Intel gathering right now. If they can keep up routing Ukraines offensives, ill bet this war is going to be over before snow falls

They should be cluster bombing and white phosphorusing the hell out of these troop accumulations we keep hearing about.

Not a big surprise. NATO inherited their stupid bragging right from Adolf Heusinger's original military. Certain militaries who have a foundation in questionable ideologies always try to emphasise their own "superhumanity" but when it comes to actual fighting, their beliefs not founded in reality, lack of respect for their opponents, inability to accept their own weaknesses (and therefore inability to improve), ironically makes their own performance look subhuman compared to the enemies they consider to be subhuman.

Such forces can only be useful in a role of shooting at civilians or partisans, where overwhelming difference in firepower means inability to fail.

Fact is, Ukraine's successes were mostly due to inheriting USSR equipment and USSR doctrines that were meant for ww3 in Europe. Ukraine's only territorial rollback during the war (battle of Kiev) was done almost exclusively using USSR weapons and doctrine with minimal or no Western input.

As the number of USSR standard trained forces decline, the AFU fighting power lowers.

Generally spec op troops are really bad when faced with regular troops in pitched battle because spec ops are light infantry designed to hit at enemy's weak spots unexpectedly. No matter how much elite training one have you still die like everyone else to 30mm autocannon rounds and 80mm rockets if the other guy can call them in on top of you.

The map below is out of date already. But Ukraine made the offensive through 3 bridges built across the creek. A tactic they've tried before last month but without the amount of equipment needed. (So I assume it was a "Probe attack" to determine the strength and responsiveness of Russian forces).

Yes, most think that special op troops are some sort of superhuman that can't be killed. While they do receive more training compared to their other types of troops, they have a very special role. Asides from the peace time operations such as assassinations, sabotage and hostage extractions, in war time, their role is to infiltrate behind enemy lines to obtain information. Say, enemy cannons are in a forested area, you would send in your special ops guys to locate these cannons and relay the coordinates to your own artillery units to take out these cannons. The side that has the cannons hidden in the forest would also have their own special ops units to prevent special ops unit from the other team from getting too close. Basically special ops guys are trained to operate behind enemy lines. Stealth and combat avoidance is the key to their success. You line them up behind the tanks, they will die just as fast as any other soldier when the other side can bombard the hell out of them.

I think these so called SOF that are spearhead ZNPP assault are more like US Rangers or Russian VDV than tier 1 unit like DEVGRU. Fast moving assault unit that have a bit more fancy gear than regular infantry. It's doesn't matter though, going in like that against armored and gunship without proper support is suicide.

Movie and video game like COD make peoples think of SOF as killing machine when in reality what SOF do most of the time is calling the airstrike from distance and BDA.

Damage to Russian artillery during Kherson Counterattack from overuse

While you see Ukrainian supporters laugh at the Russians in that thread, this says to me Russians are pouring a terrifying amount of rounds on AFU in the south. I've also heard rumors that Russian artillery tubes are at times getting hot enough that Russians are lighting up cigarettes by pressing them against the barrel. Wouldn't recommend it though on account of all those recent ammo explosions.
