Damage to Russian artillery during Kherson Counterattack from overuse

While you see Ukrainian supporters laugh at the Russians in that thread, this says to me Russians are pouring a terrifying amount of rounds on AFU in the south. I've also heard rumors that Russian artillery tubes are at times getting hot enough that Russians are lighting up cigarettes by pressing them against the barrel. Wouldn't recommend it though on account of all those recent ammo explosions.
Interesting, however it is an indicator how badly all Ukrianan artillery could be damaged beyond repair.

The Russians has way more guns, higher repair capacity, and the guns robust.

Other hand, the M777 example can't overheat this much, because after 30 rounds it needs a repair in Poland.

Means a Soviet gun with 200 rounds untill the barrel is red worth six M777.

So , the Russians has quantitative AND qualitative advantage , the supplied weapons are not usable and the Ukrainans needs six of them to replace one Soviet era gun.

This might the reason Ukraine is ditching gun artillery and going completely MRLS. MRLS rockets don't need repair.

Wow that's low even for the British:

I was thinking about how to describe the atmosphere around this Kherson Counterattack and Shilao last night put it better than I could. He said "this thing feels just like the result of a meeting between venture capitalists and entrepreneur. Like after a period of investing money into a scheme and not seeing anything tangible being produced all the investors got together with the company management and demanded to see some KPI being meet. And this counterattack is what the management came up with to please the investors."

Naturally when things go pear shaped you expect the investors to also shift the blame to the management and accuse them of making everyone lose their money. Doubly so if this particular investor had a heavier hand than the rest into the running of this business by cooking up that ZNPP scheme.

It's a mystery why Ukraine committed to this offensive to begin with.

The defense set up by the past military leadership under Zalzuhny was exceeding expectations.

There's some battle of Changping vibes here. Maybe Russia had insider information that waiting would make Ukraine leadership impatient, drop their previous competent military leadership and go into a 1 sided battle. It wouldn't be too surprising given how corrupt Ukraine is and how many potential secretly pro Russian moles there could be.

But yeah before when I saw the map I already realized either Ukraine has dropped the ball completely or Russia is absolutely shit at fighting. Turns out it is the former, which was the more likely option anyways.

The map below is out of date already. But Ukraine made the offensive through 3 bridges built across the creek. A tactic they've tried before last month but without the amount of equipment needed. (So I assume it was a "Probe attack" to determine the strength and responsiveness of Russian forces).

The fact that the Russians didn't try yet to destroy the pontoon bridges reminds me of Napoleon's adage. Do not interrupt an enemy when they are making a mistake. This was a trap, folks.

Fresh update from RYBAR, looks like AFU isn't giving up and continues to pour more resources into the Andreevka bridgehead. They're currently transferring an infantry battalion from Zaporizhzhia to the bridgehead.

, this is nearly identical to the map that Defense Politics Asia uses. It's reporting nearly identical positions to RYBAR:

I question what good would further infantry formations do when even mechanized formations can't make progress here.
