Konashenkov spoke his text eastern Ukraine with arrows and explanatory signs. On one of them, near the location of the city of Nikolaev, it is written that the Russian army destroyed one Ukrainian missile "Tochka-U", four ammunition depots and 44 MLRS (that is, multiple launch rocket systems) "Hymars" - the map says exactly that .
This is part of today's report from official Russian ministry of defense web site.
''Also intercepted: 1 Tochka-U ballistic missile near Bezymyannoye in Kherson Region and 48 shells of multiple launch rocket systems, including 44 of HIMARS near Muzykovka, Znamenka, Veseloye, Kamenka, Daryivka, Novaya Kakhovka, Berislav, Dnepryany and Tomarino.''
This information cannot be true, because Ukraine simply does not have so many HIMARS installations. According to the latest open data, Kiev had 16 of them. A few days ago, representatives of the Ukrainian army said that they were building wooden dummies of a rocket launcher - to confuse Russian artillerymen, and this, they say, is working.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that it had destroyed 4 HIMARS complexes. Neither Ukraine nor the United States, as a supplier of missiles, confirmed this information.
Perhaps the Ministry of Defense meant that it intercepted 44 missiles launched from HIMARS. Such information appeared in the Russian report on 30 August. But in this case, the inscription on the map from today's report is not correct, since it clearly follows from it that we are talking about missile systems, and not about individual missiles.
