Russia has said its forces managed to destroy four of the American-supplied M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or

S, over a period of two weeks.

The claim comes only a day after the U.S. said that all of the systems, which have given a significant boost to Ukraine's forces on the battlefield, remained intact.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Friday that between July 5 and July 20, two of the launchers "were eliminated" near the settlement of Malotaranovka in the Donetsk region as was another HIMARS and a transport-loading vehicle in Krasnoarmiisk.

"Recent shipments of U.S. and allied weapons, particularly

and 155mm howitzers, have helped to blunt Russia’s offensive in the Donbas and stabilize the situation there, Mr. Zelensky said. The Russians used to fire 12,000 artillery shells daily against 1,000 to 2,000 by Ukraine, he said. Now, he added, Ukraine can fire some 6,000 shells a day while Russia is beginning to feel a shortage of ammunition and troops.

This change in the balance of firepower has stemmed Ukrainian casualties, Mr. Zelensky said. At the peak of fighting in May and June, he said, Ukraine was losing between 100 and 200 troops a day; now, it is down to some 30 fatalities a day and around 250 wounded."

Western weapon supplies bring balance in the equation.

True, but to maintain stalemate the US will need to spend trillions a year for Kiev regime on military hardware, fuel, ammo. It is far more expensive than wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Russians outnumber Ukrainians 4 to 1, and have massive fire power. Unlike Taliban, Russians can actually shoot back, and shoot back hard. Biden won't win presidential election in 2024. After Biden is ousted from power, US supplies to Kiev regime will dry up. And when that happens, Russians will start making progress on the ground again.

You way overestimate how much difference it makes. Russia is not waiting until that far.

As long as losses are disproportionately Ukrainian, Russia will gain ground if they want to push.

The current time for major Ukrainian settlements to hold seems to be low weeks. Let's wait and see if Bakhmut falls given how Russia already moved troops into preparatory positions around small settlements like Siversk.

That's how much it costs. Each GMRLS costs 160,000 dollars and Kiev regime uses hundreds if not thousands a day to achieve stalemate, so it's quite expensive over only 10 years of war.
US has transferred 12 HIMARS (out of 20 total committed) and has only transferred

to Ukraine so far. So it's impossible to spam thousands or even hundreds per day, when their total GMLRS stockpile numbers in the mere hundreds.

And Russia AD are not actively targeting HIMARS missiles heading towards them.

Throughout this war, we've seen that Russians eventually react to changes in the battlefield. All they need now are more drones (possibly from Iran) to improve their strikes.
