⚡️Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine

High-precision long-range sea-launched Kalibr missiles near Radushnoye in Dnepropetrovsk Region have destroyed ammunition depots for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, M777 howitzers and 2S7 Pion self-propelled guns supplied to Ukraine by the US.

High-precision ground-based weapons near Chasov Yar in Donetsk People's Republic have destroyed temporary deployment point of 118th Brigade of Territorial Defence of AFU. The attack has resulted in the elimination of more than 300 nationalists.

As a result of surgical strikes of the Russian Aerospace Forces against the positions of nationalist battalions and foreign mercenaries in Osnovyanskyi and Slobodskoye districts in Kharkov, about 250 militants and up to 25 armoured vehicles have been destroyed.

▫️The enemy suffers significant losses in all directions.

▫️Critical situation in 25th Separate Airborne Brigade of AFU operating near Seversk. Its combat losses amount over 70 per cent of its personnel. Brigade commanders deliberately mislead relatives of the dead soldiers by reporting them as missing or deserting.

▫️The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation in Ukraine.

High-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces have neutralised command post of 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade near Artemovsk in Donetsk People's Republic, 10 areas of AFU manpower and military equipment concentration, including Aidar nationalist battalion near Kharkov, as well as depot where over 200 tonnes of foreign-made anti-tank missile systems and missiles for them were stored.

Operational-tactical and army aviation, missile troops and artillery have neutralised 27 AFU command posts, 53 areas of Ukrainian artillery units at firing positions, as well as 156 areas of manpower and military equipment concentration.

▫️3 ammunition depots near Komsomolskoye and Partizanskoye in Nikolaev Region, as well as 1 Osa AKM anti-aircraft missile system near Seversk have been destroyed.

✈️Su-35s fighter jet of the Russian Aerospace Forces has shot down 1 Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian air force near Bogatyr in Donetsk People's Republic.

In addition, Russian air defence means shot down 12 rockets of Uragan multiple-launch rocket system near Izyum in Kharkov Region, Novodachnoye, Yubileinoye, Slavyanoserbsk in Lugansk People's Republic, Novaya Kakhovka in Kherson Region and Kherson city.

In total, 243 Ukrainian airplanes and 137 helicopters, 1,506 unmanned aerial vehicles, 354 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4,020 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 741 multiple launch rocket systems, 3,132 field artillery and mortars, as well as 4,149 units of special military vehicles were destroyed during the operation.

Thanks for the info. Assuming this method of counting is 50% undercounting, we arrive at under 7000 in 4.5 months, or 1500 per month. These first few months are the most difficult for the Russians since they are

1. Dealing with Ukrainian troops that spent the last eight years entrenching.
2. Ukraine side had professional troops that still have a lot of fight left in them, at least up until Mariupol and Poposna.
3. The Ukrainian weapons have not been degraded as much as they are now.

The Ukrainian side is facing much more difficult problems.

1. Some estimate Ukrainian casualties at 200-300 dead per day. Even the Ukraine side first admitted to 100 per day and later said it was higher. Even an average of 150 per day since the beginning of the war put this at 20000, or three times the Russian casualties.

2. Since the Russians are rotating their troops and the losses are spread out more to different units, they are increasing their combat effectiveness. When the troops go through combat, their combat effectiveness increases, where as losing troops means they lose combat effectiveness. The problem with Ukraine is that they are not able to rotate their troops. This means entire units are taken out, losing their most battle hardened and well trained troops wholesale.

3. They are steadily losing more and more of their artillery, even as the West sent in more. They have lost most of their armor. This means they can only dig in and get bombarded. No maneuvering warfare for them. As the Russians are able to maneuver, things will get worse and worse if you stay in one place.

4. They have a huge desertion problem which will only get worse. I am sure there are some desertion on the Russian side, but nowhere near as bad, especially the new troops are volunteers and not dragged off the parking lot like the Ukrainian side.

5. They are losing their geographical advantage. Once Kramatorsk and Slovyansk are taken, all the frontline that they spent the last eight years building are gone. What is left are a few cities defended by inadequate number of troops and even fewer professional troops. On the Russian side, they have found a tried and true way to take a city. Once Donbass is taken and they straighten out their frontline, these cities will be surrounded by all sides and bombarded to submission. We will see how fast these big cities like Kharkiv fall, but I would not be surprised if they go pretty quickly.

Once the Russians finish with Donbass, and take the couple of big cities along the Dnipro, they will be able to sweep across Western Ukraine relatively unopposed. With mostly inexperienced troops and lack of equipment, the Ukraine side might take eight dead for every Russian one instead of the three to one for the last few months.
According to Ukrainian sources, they have had about 10,000 KIAs and 30,000 WIAs, not counting POWs and missing

Take into account that it is a Pro Ukrainian account, so there must be some undercounting, of at least 50%:

Aren’t the Ukrainians claiming they killed 40,000 Russians in march? Only 10,000 dead in total? Complete rubbish.

~10,000 KIA for UAF seems highly unlikely with the real number being much higher.

Even pro-Ukraine Western journalists covering the conflict on the ground are shocked to see the number of bodies returning from the front. Not to mention the Kiev government is actively censoring anything related to UAF losses and prosecuting those who are reporting on UAF casualties.

The official Ukrainian sources have been proven to be outright lying many times. Remember the ghost of Kiev? The Ukrainians official sources have later admitting to the obvious, there was no ghost of Kiev. The Russian side have been silent and withholding information at times, but have never been proved wrong. Given the reliable source of counting graves and some extrapolation, a 3 or 4 Ukrainian death to one Russian one thus far seem reasonable, given how difficult it is to overcome the eight year defense built up in Donbass.

Current official MIA numbers are 7000. Estimated number of POWs is at least 8000 (by the time AZOV surrendered in Mariupol, there were 2000 POWs, another 2500 from Azovsteel plant, then Liman, Gorskoe and Zolotoe, Severodonetzsk and Lysichansk. I would say these KIA and WIA numbers are at minimum halved.

Just add that 10,000 KIA and 30,000 WIA, gives 40,000 casualties, which in 138 days of fighting, gives a daily average of 290 daily casualties...
