The majority of ground forces I hear are from DPR and Russia just assists with missiles and air support, thing is we dont have percentages who belongs where.

Similar range to the newer BM-30s, worse than PHL-16 in basically all aspects.

Certainly useful equipment for Ukraine which is in dire need of more artillery, regardless of quality. But you'd need hundreds in order to rebuild Ukraine's long/medium range capabilities.

There's what? 12 M142 out of which 2 were destroyed so 10 active right now? And talks of bringing in up to 50 after Ukraine "show success" with the existing ones. If 50 are provided, it would help replace Ukrainian losses on a scale that may affect individual battles.

They can escape to Russia on asylum and leave from Russia.

I don't think HIMARS is comparable to Smerch / Tornado-S. HIMARS is 227 mm max range 70 km with guided rounds in 6 tubes. Smech / Tornado-S is 300 mm max range 120 to 200 km with guided rounds in 12 tubes.

Unless I'm wrong, M142 can carry SRBM with ~200km range as well. I agree that it is not directly comparable, but theyre the closest Ukraine will have to rocket artillery at that range once their own Smerch start running out, which might have already happened.

M142 is basically a hybrid MRLS / ballistic missile. That makes it kinda weird. Most things are either MRLS or ballistic missile. For instance, Smerch / Tornado-S is MRLS, Iskander is ballistic / cruise missile. The US attempts to put both into one with HIMARS.

I saw a different claim that those Tochka U’s were captured Ukrainian ones. So IDK.
