18-60 men cannot leave Ukraine right now freely.I see Ukrainians leaving for the west where life quality is better than Ukraine.

The majority of ground forces I hear are from DPR and Russia just assists with missiles and air support, thing is we dont have percentages who belongs where.Nah, Russia is very much involved and there definitely are deficiencies and problems with the Russian military (although basically all overblown in western media, cuz western media lol).
With that said, they have choosen to fall back to a more stupid, but also slow and steady approach, minimizing their own casualties while slowly creeping forward with artillery.
This approach is also one that is cheap, which means Russia is burning less resources and it is in fact in Russia's interest for the war to prolong to winter at the very least (since he can gain way more leverage by then as shutting down gas to Europe would be incredibly devasting for EU and to an extent, the US as well).
Similar range to the newer BM-30s, worse than PHL-16 in basically all aspects.are himars changing the calculus somewhat or are they wunderwaffe summer edition?

Certainly useful equipment for Ukraine which is in dire need of more artillery, regardless of quality. But you'd need hundreds in order to rebuild Ukraine's long/medium range capabilities.
There's what? 12 M142 out of which 2 were destroyed so 10 active right now? And talks of bringing in up to 50 after Ukraine "show success" with the existing ones. If 50 are provided, it would help replace Ukrainian losses on a scale that may affect individual battles.
Unless I'm wrong, M142 can carry SRBM with ~200km range as well. I agree that it is not directly comparable, but theyre the closest Ukraine will have to rocket artillery at that range once their own Smerch start running out, which might have already happened. They can escape to Russia on asylum and leave from Russia.
I don't think HIMARS is comparable to Smerch / Tornado-S. HIMARS is 227 mm max range 70 km with guided rounds in 6 tubes. Smech / Tornado-S is 300 mm max range 120 to 200 km with guided rounds in 12 tubes.

Dusting off those T-62M and Tochka U.
M142 is basically a hybrid MRLS / ballistic missile. That makes it kinda weird. Most things are either MRLS or ballistic missile. For instance, Smerch / Tornado-S is MRLS, Iskander is ballistic / cruise missile. The US attempts to put both into one with HIMARS.
Found this on wikipedia source links,Does anyone following the Russian media have any information about the number of Russians dead and wounded as published by official Russian sources?
