The War in the Ukraine

These things add-up overt ime

It’s not like russia hasn’t been striking ukraine’s interior since the start of the war, now ukraine has the ability to do the same in a more effective way.
If they were able to do it consistently and frequently enough, sure.

With weeks between each strike either due to a lack of sufficient ammo/operators-platforms getting taken out and with effectiveness decreasing in each one as the Russians adapt, not so much.

The Ukranians have wasted a bunch of M270's and HIMARS in the Kursk adventure as it is. What this might cause is that the Russians pull the trigger on moving further into Sumy and Kharkov as buffers and eventual annexation

Russia can escalate all the way to mass destruction if these people want to.
Using enough conventional strikes to force Russia to acquiesce would quite likely result in nuclear retaliation. According to their own doctrine.

Ukraine's targets are just dictated by opportunity, not any political concerns. They'll not use limited number western missiles on heavily AD covered areas such as the Russian border, this is entirely due to practical and not political reasons.

From the Intel Slava blog:

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces are critically short of spare parts for German equipment, BILD reports

Despite Germany's promise to supply Ukraine with 12 more PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers, a significant portion of the systems already delivered remain inoperative due to wear and tear. According to BILD, Ukrainian soldiers are complaining about a shortage of spare parts, especially the barrels, which are extremely worn out after intensive use, including during the battle for Bakhmut in 2022."

Russia won’t do that, too much to loose. The Russian state is run by the rich, the last thing they want is nuclear conflict.
