Indeed. Russian side claims that they sent Su-57 to escort Tu-22M, perhaps hoping that an F-16 would take the bait.

They are still stuck there with not much further direction while overall the situation remains the same. In fact Russia is probably having it easier getting into the donbass area now.

Not necessarily detects the aircraft tho. The Ukrainians probably got intel on Russian flight plan in that area, which includes composition.
Identifying the aircraft itself however is challenging and i dont really see Ukrainian have means for such. Even NATO may not necessarily have means to identify the types of aircraft, without getting bit closer (as NCTR or Non Cooperative Target Recognition is basically half of detection range)

Low frequency waves can see stealth, especially the tails. It's physics.
Detection doesn't mean target classification though. How do they know it's not another aircraft?

Ukraine had a nice initial raid into Kursk. Should have pulled back after destroying the facilities. Holding undefensible position is pointless.
