The War in the Ukraine

So this brings me back to me previous question. Why is ATACMS having success against these Russian surface to air missile sites? Did these sites just not have enough interceptors on hand to target the incoming ATACMS barrage? Is ATACMS more effective than previously thought in this role?
1) Spamming a salvo of missiles with cluster warheads is the best way to swarm a launch site. Salvo size is a factor. Why they are more effective lately are numbers, they got a nice batch of them to use.
2) Static SAM sites that are not moving a lot is a contributing factor. Russian forces are shooting themselves by being to complacent after a period of Ukrainian lacking means to hurt them.

But they are not firing more ATACMS missiles than the number of missiles a s300/400 battery carries. Since Ukraine started using ATACMS to target Russian IADS, and the success they've been having, I thought to myself that maybe one of the missiles, the first missile fired, is a decoy/chaff missile and that is reason they have had all this success, but then I thought if that were the case the Russians would also be showing that part of missile debris and they haven't.

Russia moved many systems very close or inside the front due to the need to cover the new offensive areas. You don't get to consistently hit Ukrainian deployment points and stockpiles for free, to provide cover for it, a risk must be taken.

If air defenses aren't attacked, it would be artillery batteries/tactical drone launchers being attacked. No/fewer krasnopol/mlrs/orlan = less pressure at the front. A trade of an occasional AAM launcher loss for a consistent stream of FABs and artillery over the Ukrainian rear is very worthwhile, hits on deployment points often cause casualties in the dozens to hundreds.

And for Russia, which has a much smaller army deployed in the war, having a high k:d ratio is mandatory if they want to take ground and/or defend.

The closer something is to the launchers, the easier it is to Iran them with ballistic missiles. That plus Ukraine doesn't only use ballistic missiles but a mix of cheap drones, rockets and so on.

Russia is losing. They need to seriously boost their air defenses. At this rate, they will lose all air defense.

I think at this point we knew better to wait for confirmation rather than take grainy pictures and brOSINT claims at face value.

Otherwise, we should start believing the talk that Ukraine ran out of Su-24's after the continuous attacks on Starokostiantyniv

According to information from the source, in the area of the settlement. Shevchenkovskoe, near the city of Zaporozhye, a reconnaissance drone discovered an American M270 MLRS missile launcher equipped with ATACMS missiles. After the equipment arrived at the position, it was instantly struck by the Iskander tactical missile system, completely destroying it along with its entire crew, not allowing a single missile to be launched
The image is too bad to identify.

Body exchange near the border. This should accurate reflect the death ratio of two sides in the war. 35 Russian bodies were exchanged for 254 Ukrainian bodies. Rest in peace soldiers.

Rare footage of an American-made Ukrainian FGM-148 Javelin ATGM strike, filmed from inside the Russian T-90M Proryv tank, has been published. The tankers had expended shells and were firing from a remote anti-aircraft gun. The crew of the tank spotted the launch of an FGM-148 Javelin missile from the house, a machine gun burst was directed at the launch site and the tank began to actively maneuver away from the missile. Despite the tank's maneuvers, due to the heated machine gun, the Javelin missile was able to aim at the tank and hit the turret. The new turret protection, which we showed earlier, withstood the blow and the tank crew was not injured. The crew put out the fire and took the tank out of the battle, returning to its unit.
