The first report of a successful attack with ATACMS against 2 S-300/400 has not yet been confirmed and Russian sources have posted three images of undamaged operational batteries on the ground.
Here you go... at least one site

Another sign of corruption in Ukraine: sectors with high margins& low usefulness such as gambling bribe government to keep their employee away from conscription. On the other side manufacturing that rely on low margins (so less money for bribes) but are a must for the country survival see their employee sent to the frontline. So a nonsignificant part of the crisis is self inflicted.

One of the reason of delays in weapon deliveries: Romania has 4(+3orders) patriots. There is discussions on giving one to Ukraine now and get another one later from US. Problem is President is the head of the council that decide that and he dreams of a sweet retirement spot in exchange for allowing it. In addition, politicians don't want this issue to enter public debate, arguing against 'politisation' of the matter.

This appears to be the second occurrence of an attack in recent days. This once again demonstrates the inertia of the Russians, visualizing the SAM battery deployment mode.
Ukraine is not finding these s300/400 batteries it's the US and if the US was not involved, I dare say no s400 SAM battery would have been destroyed in this war. A Russian s300/400 battery site leaves a huge EM and physical signature and cannot hide from US ELINT/SIGINT and ISR aircraft. It also looks like s400 battery doesn't have the capability to deploy launchers kilometers away from radar they are always cluster ATACM CEP.

US knows where every s300/400 battery is deployed in Crimea and other locations and who knows how many batteries are left in Crimea but at the same time who knows how many cluster ATACMs Ukraine has left.

Here's more insight on attacks of Russian IADS

-Ukrainian ATACMS strikes methodically wipe out Russian air defense assets all over Russian-occupied Crimea. Those 3 sites have been struck in the last 48h. Yevpatoriya Sector - Target: S-300PS - Destroyed 5N63S with RPN 30N6 radar unit - 2 abandoned 5P85T launcher trailers, likely damaged or destroyed - Additional gear abandoned, likely damaged/destroyed Dzhankoy Sector - Target: S-300/400 - Destroyed 48YA6-K1 Long-Range Radar unit - One abandoned PU type 51P6 launcher - Burn marks where the other launchers were positioned Sevastopol Sector - Target: S-400 - Destroyed 92N6 Radar unit destroyed - One destroyed PU type 51P6 launcher - One destroyed BAZ-6306 generator unit It is obvious at this point that the Russian air defense units are shot blind and that Russians have no means in order to prevent this from happening.

I'm pretty sure this aircraft played a huge role

What are the Russians afraid of? They try downing US drones by spilling fuel on them what's the difference downing it with a missile? It's still getting downed might as well make it easier. Call the US bluff they will not do anything the Houthis are shooting down US drones and US is like meh.

Ukrainian fortification in Novoselivka gets FAB'ed. The way the UAV is targeting tells me this might be a laser guided KAB or X-38ML. There is a number of FAB attributed strikes that in hindsight, could be X-38ML instead.

So this brings me back to me previous question. Why is ATACMS having success against these Russian surface to air missile sites? Did these sites just not have enough interceptors on hand to target the incoming ATACMS barrage? Is ATACMS more effective than previously thought in this role?

Because it doesn't fly like a ballistic missile. It likely tops out at 60-70k feet stays at mach throughout its flight including after its fuel burns up then maneuvers to its target like this promo video.

They even use a mockup s300 site for video. How presumptuous.

Is the concept of it being a "maneuverable, not ballistic missile" widely recognized? The Wiki for ATACMS calls it a ballistic missile and doesn't make that distinction for example.

There can be multiple salvos of various types of ammunitions launched from same launchers, ATACMS, GLSDB and standard HIMARs ammunition, all can be timed to reach target around same time, GLSDB can gluide around and approach target from multiple angles etc.

I think if there was any hesitation and delays in last few months, now it's clear, they'll have Russia dogged down for years and years in Ukraine. They will keep escalating as needed to keep this war going on for as long as necessary.
