Footage of a Ukrainian Banshee Jet-80 kamikaze jet drone, manufactured in Great Britain, intercepted and landed by Russian electronic warfare units. The Banshee Jet-80 jet drone is manufactured by Qinetic and is used by the UK Navy as an aerial target. The drone's range exceeds 100 km, the maximum speed is 720 km/h, the drone can stay in the air for up to 45 minutes and rise to a height of up to 7500 meters. Reportedly, upon inspection of the drone, 7 kilograms of explosives were found. As a result of decoding the flight mission of the Banshee Jet-80 drone, it turned out that the drone was supposed to circle over the Novoazovsky region and hit an object in Mariupol, approaching the target from the Taganrog Bay.

Something like M777 or M109 can only hit that range with Excalibur or other pricier base bleed shells.
There aren’t many of them available, only a few thousand. Price per shell is about equal to a Ferrari.

The man found dead last week with six shots in La Vila Joiosa (Alicante) has been identified as Maxim Kuzminov, the Russian pilot who deserted last August with his combat helicopter to surrender to the Ukrainian Army, as confirmed by sources from the Guardia Civil. The identity of the murdered man has been confirmed through his fingerprints, since he was carrying false documentation. The Ukrainian media Kyiv Post already reported this Monday that the representative of the Ukrainian military intelligence (GUR) Andri Yusov had confirmed the death of Kuzminov in Spain. His escape and landing with a Mi-8 fighter at a military base in the Kharkiv region, in eastern Ukraine and on the border with Russia, was used for propaganda purposes by the Kiev authorities.

As reported at the time by the head of the Ukrainian GUR, Kiril Budanov, Kuzminov crossed the border flying below radar detection along with other members of the crew who did not know of the pilot's plans and died when they tried to flee after the landing. Budanov also explained then that Ukrainian military intelligence had managed to remove the defecting pilot's family from Russia, as reported by the Efe agency. The pilot said that they guaranteed his safety, offered him new documents and compensation of half a million dollars before proceeding to plan the operation.

I think if it was just a loss of an helicopter the Russians wouldn't have bothered trying to kill him. But by getting his own crewmates dead, some even speculate he shot them himself, he basically got himself into a Russian GRU hit list.

Russian Telegram channels tend to report them as FABs.

The former Afghan Mi-17 is far too new to be of Soviet origin. These were offically bought by the US from Russia before 2014 for the Afghan Army. When the US fled Kabul, some of these where flown to neighboring countries and from there transferred to the US and then from there to Ukraine.
