The War in the Ukraine

SkyNews is of the opinion that the M142 while comparable in range, is significantly more accurate than the Russian Smerch. If they are delivered in sufficient numbers, they may be a game changer.
Systems of this range and approximate capability (both old and new) were really in action from day 1.
In a way, Ukraine is basically replacing spent Tochka capability, which they can't replace by themselves, and augmenting Vilkha(which they produce, but which is probably in short supply due to strikes against LUCH).

The order was given to take Mariupol. The "Somalia" battalion, among the main forces, was sent to storm the fortified city.

On the outskirts of Mariupol, no one knew what scale of the disaster would unfold in the city in the coming weeks, which of the soldiers would survive, and what tests soldiers and civilians would have to go through.

During two months of heavy fighting, the personnel of the assault group cleared house after house, street after street, forcing out the numerically superior enemy to Azovstal. Together with the Somalis, at the forefront of attacks, Maxim Fadeev also went this way. After spending more than four weeks in the midst of the assault, he became a witness and chronicler of unique events, dramatic scenes, tragedies and victories, which are reflected in detail in the new documentary film "At the Edge of the Abyss - Battle for Mariupol".

Here you can see the trailer, I can't wait for the film, the comments say that it will be ready in June-July.

ISW and the BROSINT community seem to be making a real big deal about the Kherson offensive. Russia has been changing the city over to Russia, has been giving out Russian passports and introduced the rouble. They wouldn't be doing that if they were planning on leaving.

Ukrainians have as much chance taking Kherson as they do Moscow.

Just for information
The passport issue is something that has been simmering for a long time

A lot of Russian-Ukrainians wanted to hold dual citizenship, but were technically not allowed by law. After Maidan, obviously it became a more contentious issue.

IMO, the issuing of passports is not really a sign of anything

I get that but why do they bother keeping something that is unusable. There is probably quite a few NLAWs sitting in storage with a crappy battery that’s going out within 0-2 year. Not having a replaceable battery seems like a waste of money.
The rocket motors and casings degrade as well. What's the point of replacing those as well as the battery? Might as well just procure a new one at that point.

Another great video from the Austrian Armed Forces Academy, this time in English.

They go into a lot of detail over the recent developments in the battle for Donbass, including half a dozen Russian failed river crossings and explain exactly how the Russians made a breakthrough in Popasna.

Some other interesting details, that we’ve already observed, like components missing on the M777s sent to Ukraine necessary to fire Excalibur.

They conclude with a discussion on attrition warfare which currently favors Russia and talk quite candidly about clear signs of morale failure/combat fatigue of Ukrainian forces in the cauldron:

Ukrainian SU25 trashed, date and location unknown :
Remains of a Ukr Su-25M1 (modernised version), don't know the location There's been reports of 2 -3 shot down in different locations. Might be the one from the Nikolaev region :

Unprecedented insurgency erupted in the city of Kupyansk, Civilians forced the evil knievel Russian's to arrange a concert for them, poor Russian's had no choice but to surrender and helplessly watch while the people enjoyed.

Remember this dude from the early photo shoots (South Korean mercenary Lee Geun) :-
Seoul filed 2 criminal cases against Lee Geun - for crossing the border and mercenary. He faces a prison term, deprivation of citizenship and even the death penalty. Right at the airport, after a brief interview, he was taken away by the police, Like most of his other foreign colleagues, after coming back to senses he decided to run back home while he could, According to Korean media, the ex-Navy special forces captain and active blogger was wounded during a "special reconnaissance mission behind enemy lines".

Most likely just a formality and no serious punishment will be given.
