"▪ According to the publication, with reference to messages intercepted by Ukrainian special services, Russian and Chinese businessmen held secret discussions on plans to build an underwater tunnel connecting Russia with Crimea, in the hope of creating a transport route, which will be protected from attacks by Ukraine.
▪ Intercepted emails show that one of China's largest construction companies has expressed its willingness to participate. The project is ready to finance the bank of China. A tunnel can cost $ 5 billion.
▪ For its part, China is likely to insist on at least partial ownership of the tunnel, increasing its expanding supply of global port and transport infrastructure.
▪ China could also finance the project and receive payment either in the form of duties or through the export of Russian oil and gas."
