The War in the Ukraine

For those who don't anything about geography - please find the Kerch city, Crimea on the map, zoom out, and look what's located just south of the city.

Yes, this ship was guarded by the same SAM batteries as the bridge.
You mean the missile was meant for the bridge? There is a video in which you can see a puff of smoke in the air (a bit high into the air) and the missile falling onto a building next to the ship. It’s likely that the missile was going for the bridge but was intercepted and fell near the ship.

Doesn't short term loans usually require collateral?
Anyway not a good look.
He looks incredibly desperate as if his only purpose to the powers that be, is his relationship with the west and his ability to extract money and weapons from that relationship.

I seriously doubt that it is legal in the USA to publicly canvas loans is such a manner.

In the scheme of repayments such loans would be after the existing sovereign loans from the USA and European countries.

Ukraine is going to need a lot more money after the war before it is going to be cash positive.

Fools don't tend to have anywhere near the amount of money he needs. Despite the number fools in the world their combined wealth unsurprisingly is a pittance. So it's a fools errand.

It would have taken less time to repair the bridge again than repairing that corvette...

On the bright side, the Karakurts are dime a dozen as Russia has been pumping them out and there are like 4 being fitted out or about to be comissioned plus they have the advantage of being able to use the Volga-Don canal so no need to use the Bosphorus to replace it.

Hitting a Grigorovich or a Gorshkov would have been a bigger loss.

If I’m not wrong then the ship wasn’t in active service and the Karakurt corvettes aren’t really that important of a ship for the Russians, they have plenty of them. This one being in repair for a bit a longer won’t be that big of a loss.

Damaging the bridge on the other hand has a lot more PR and morale value associated with it.

There used to be a huge bottleneck in building the Karakurt. The Russians had difficulty producing the engines at any decent rate. But this has been rectified recently, they modernized the production facilities for the engines, which is why you are seeing so many being built right now.
