Incredible footage of another Russian assault near Avdiivka:

It's not clear what they're trying to achieve (other than get blown to bits), maybe deliver infantry to the tree line where they turn around?
Avdiivka is extremely well defended. It is a town on highground fortified over the years, while staffed by some of the best soldiers in Ukraine. I expect Russians to not crack it any time soon. The difficulty is above Bakhmut.

At the same time Russians must take it at some point. It is the only way to secure Donbass city from shelling, that is a primary objective of the war. It is understandable Russians want to crack this fort at some point, but why now is rather baffling. Yes they managed to shut down the railway, but supply routes are still open unlike Bakhmut.

They had a whole year to prepare so they must have expected some chance of success. In my opinion unless Russian can cut off the supply they are not going to take it by brute force.

Clearly anything that moves in these mined fields are just easy meals... it's all you can eat style of buffet.

It will end when one side will have no more depth in his hands.

New Russian spotting drone? This is reading off the engine thermal signatures brightly. A Ukrainian armored column is spotted then picked off one by one by MSTA-S.

Compilation of footage from an ATGM user recently awarded the Hero of Russia, with 26 vehicular kills in the Artemovosk area.

Russian ATGM hit on a Ukrainian APC by the VDV.

TOS are highly priority targets of the AFU and it's easy to see why. Here a TOS does it's work against Ukrainian positions in Ugledar.

T-72B3 fires and hits a Ukrainian electronic post, communication or electronic warfare maybe.

A WWI tactic
Tunnelling up to and under the Ukrainian trenches before setting off charges

Original Idea dates back to siege tactics against castles, though back then instead of explosives they used flaming greased pigs to spread a fire under the foundations. So one could say the Russians are using medieval tactics.

but why now is rather baffling.

Keep the Ukranians on their toes and prevent them from fortifying position further back after their failed offensives. Unlike Bakmuth, Avdiivka doesn't have a Chasiv Yar behind it and while Avdiivka itself was heavily fortified, the Ukranians didn't build aditional defensive lines behind it so they are probably trying to take advantage of the current disarray after the loss of equipment
