The War in the Ukraine

Got to admit, the Ukrainians won't be able to get the lost lands back. They had the one and only chance to do that during the summer and that is now gone.

No ATACMS, no F-16 will change that.

How long till we see Zelenksy getting booted or forced to sign a cease fire?

Destroyed Ukrainian MiG-29s in the Kulbakino airfield in Nikolaev. Can't remember which air strike this is, but I think it's the one using Lancets last month. Two of the pics are one MiG-29 from different angles, and the last is a separate. Those two don't look damaged to me, they look totaled.

Repair and restoration base of the AFU destroyed by a missile strike, which I am guessing to be an Iskander.

The F-16 with MLU is going to be of little use to regain air dominance. At best it will be used as a bomb truck to lob JDAMs and the like. Only the F-16 with AESA radar and AIM-120D would be minimally effective.

It’s seems like a few F-16 s were transferred into Ukraine through Poland. They were disassembled and transferred using trucks, upto five of them may have already entered into Ukraine already.

Rybar claims that they are likely to be used to hunt down A-50 and Mig 31. Seems really odd considering the fact that these older F-16 s would really struggle to get closer to either of these platforms without getting detected And neutralised.

Rybar is a melodrama queen in case you did not notice.
The only thing it would have a chance against would be the old Su-27s that the Russian Navy operates. Su-24M2s if they still use them. Or aircraft without proper radar or air defense weapons like helicopters and Su-25s.

It would have no chance against either the Su-35 or MiG-31BM.

I agree, those older F-16s can only be a replacement to the bomb and missile carrier migs they have already lost but they do open up an array of air-to-ground weapons systems that can now be transferred to Ukraine.

Yeah, I do think so. They are can still be good carriers for western weapons and these western systems are peer level challenges for modern Russian systems.

The Su-35 has an RCS of like 2 sq meters vs 1 sq meter for the F-16 MLU. And the radar in the Su-35 has over twice the range.
It carries the R-77-1 which does not have less range than the AIM-120C. And it can also carry the R-37M with probably triple the range.

The MiG-31BM has a much larger RCS but it also has a way larger radar. The MiG-31 already had the first PESA radar in the world when it came out in the 1980s, and the MiG-31BM upgrades the radar with modern signal processing electronics.

I think there is a misunderstanding here. I agreed to your statement about Ukraine’s F-16s not being credible threat to Su 35s and Mig 31s.
I mean they can possible carry modern western air to ground weapons and they are a peer level challenge for Russians (for air defences and EW).
