The War in the Ukraine

That's extraordinary mine density in that 11 minute Bradley video.

Was the Ukrainian medic firing a rifle at their own Bradley to try to get the crew to drive closer? Seeing as they appear to be all AP mines (butterfly mines I'm guessing) I also don't understand why the Bradley wouldn't move closer.

Was the Bradely that return at the end , the same that left mid way in the clip? The original one seem to have driven away with a few guys on top and at least 1 dude seem to have fell off. The whole thing seem kinda odd that people took their time getting into/onto it.

re: 11 minute Twitter video

Damn what bad luck for the medic. Right knee on top of a mine in an area that three people previously have walked over with no problems.

To those wondering about the soldiers shooting at the Bradley, he wasn't. He was shooting at the ground hoping to set off any mines that he couldn't see. One soldier sacrificed his rifle in order to climb onto the Bradley.

Can anyone send the link for the 11 minute Bradley massacre video here?

Haven't checked telegram lately frankly speaking

In my opinion, the video is graphic, gruesome and generally falls into "things that cannot be unseen" such that it should not be linked to in this forum. It’s also trending on various social media sites so entering "Bradley video" in the search box of Twitter/Reddit/Telegram/etc will bring up the video, so this also makes links to it from here unnecessary.

With that being said, I don’t see an issue discussing the incident if it’s in the context of the guildlines set on the first page(verses posting the video just for gore or war porn)

It is a Military Operation thread dealing with:
Strategy
Tactics
Events/Movements on the Battlefield
Equipment used and its performance
Debunking propaganda and false claims using actual battlefield based evidence

Strela was destroyed by HIMARS.
At this point, it feels like the whole hope was on HIMARS with a huge ammo oversupply.
Because they use it basically against anything now, I saw uses against trench systems and even pickups/small buses.

Basically, the idea was not unlike Ardennes - to rely on superior heavy artillery (heavy rocket artillery in this case) with the shortest engagement cycle possible for battlefield interdiction and CAS.

While the effect is significant, the larger goal remains out of reach.

The original purpose of destroying large supply caches in the rear is no longer effective as Russia has shortened the front lines and dispersed depots.

Its high mobility allow it to remain one of the few western provided systems not yet been confirmed visually lost, while also providing extremely short engagement cycles for identified HVTs, not much else it could be doing right now anyhow.

Lostarmour's count of destroyed & knocked out Bradleys so far conflicts with the official statement. 27 instead of 17:

It appears that in the 11 min. video, the drones stalking the knocked out vehicles also dropped an artillery strike of some sort on top of them.
This video is very sad.

Two main point :
1. no proper artirelly preparation. 155 mm shells making 5 meter wide and 1.8 meter deep crater .
24ibG0r.png

Means it cleaning 5 meter diameter area of mines, and creating a safe dugout for the infantry.

Making a 1 km long safe passage with 155 mm shell requiring 10 000 shell launched from 5 km, creating an 80 meter wide safe zone.
Cost 8 million USD . Cheaper than to lost two Bradley and dozens of soldiers.
2. Rubbish training, th guys disembarked from the two damaged vahicle (most likelly) , and isntead to move on the established, safe zone - the tracks on the vehicles, they moved to the virgin , mined area .

Visibly they did it by instinct , means there is a lack of deeply rooted drills for this type of events.

MEans lack of proper training. And these are the assault teams.

Yeah, but firing 10 thousand shells would require either a lot of guns, or a long prep time. Either way, it would make guns subject to counter battery fire, air strikes etc.. If you want to assault head first into well-prepared positions, you have to pay the price in blood.
