The War in the Ukraine

He was. There is no good reason to remove Shoigu from his position. There has been a huge campaign against Shoigu, for whatever reason, but he has mostly done a good job as Minister of Defense at least compared with his predecessors. Compare the military budget of Russia with what they get for that money, and then talk about corruption. Shoigu is also only the interface between the government and the military. He often gets blame for decisions he did not make and which can be either attributed to the other members of government (like reduced funding imposed by the Ministry of Finance), or lack of purchase of certain items like the smaller cheaper precision weapons (which the military never asked for before the conflict started).

Regards of this whole "coup" thing I feels like I read a badly writen book.

Shoot down a helicopter, and they handle it like an accident ?

Putin handling it "yeah, you wanted to kill me, but everyone has bad day, so get over it. Fancy for a beer ?".

The pre recorded boradcasts the same ,if it happens real time then how they can prepare speech 24 hours (at least ) in advance?

Putin and the commander of the Wagner politly suggest to them to follow they heart . And so on. Instead just givin a direct command.

And the commander wear a trainer without any rank insignia. But holding a machine gun. Like if he prepare a video for an action movie casting.

And the lot more plothole in the story.

Or is it me ?

This whole story feels for me like a sketch from the Monty Python.

It could be we are missing many details in the incidents, but what we can be sure is the result. The correct response is to wait for further information.

Please provide source for Shoigu and Gerasimov getting ousted and replaced.

Usually, aren't military leaders generally rewarded after pacification or suppressing a rebellion? Their replacement doesn't make sense.

It's mentioned in various Russian Telegram channels but cannot go beyond that. It's a precondition to Prigozhyn's giving up his coup. Both submitted their resignations but it remains for Putin to accept them. Replacing them IMO doesn't make sense at this time as you also said, although making Surovikin the head of the overall AF has its own big point since he is much more respected by the Russian Armed Forces. In fact the first defensive line in Zaporozhye, which remains the Ukrainians are still not even close to, is referred to as the Surovikin line. IMO though, Shoigu is someone that Putin trusts and is within his inner circle.

Onto unrelated news

Russia MOD reported or claimed striking a depot that contains Storm Shadow missiles.

Ukrainian 47th Mechanized Brigade is struggling on a minefield. This westernized brigade is headed by a 28 year old with no prior training other than in the West.

Heavy toll on Bradleys.

MOD EDIT: Deleted links to graphic videos of UA soldiers being maimed from anti-personel landmines with visible gore and human suffering.

**Mistake with my auto correction that was a Bradley M2, and that was the 47th Brigade of Ukraine.

That's extraordinary mine density in that 11 minute Bradley video.

Was the Ukrainian medic firing a rifle at their own Bradley to try to get the crew to drive closer? Seeing as they appear to be all AP mines (butterfly mines I'm guessing) I also don't understand why the Bradley wouldn't move closer.

Maybe Bradley scared of anti-tank mine.

This 11 minute video is like a horror movie.

Saw that 11 minute Bradley video, absolutely horrifying. Especially brutal considering the mines don't seem powerful enough to kill instantly but cause serious injury only. Looks like some of the guys blown up are medics too.

Also assuming the drone footage is from the Russians, also shows AFU deploying very little if any anti-air here given how clear these vids are.

Never mind the narration. Two clips within the video are interesting.

Starting around 0:45, KA-52 scoring kills. But in this particular video, the infrared graphics are better than compared to some other KA-52 videos which are poor. This is an indication of gradual improvement in the helicopter.

Starting around 1:05 of the same video above, a Russian Strela-10 system was tracked by Ukrainian drone and destroyed by artillery. The missiles were spontaneously firing.

UR-77 at the office blowing things up. Promotion video.

Skip to 0:50 of this video pass the MoD stock promo footage. What appears to be a Ukrainian vehicle or truck was hit, resulting in a large explosion which suggests ammunition exploding. This is followed by an ATGM hit on a Ukrainian position resulting in a large explosion that might be a local ammo depot. These are tank hits with drone assistance. Drone assisted tank fire has become of the in things of this war.
