The War in the Ukraine

Uh yes. Did it's job at an exorbitant cost. This is not a favorable trade in terms of cost. Especially long-term, not without Congress passing another aid package. That 40 billion isn't going to last forever. This is all assuming that Ukraine actually intercepted everything. Ukraine has quite the track record on lying about the effectiveness of its air defenses.

Politico: The $48 billion aid package which was signed in December has already nearly run out.

"The $48 billion Ukraine aid package that Congress approved in December has about $6 billion left, meaning U.S. funding for weapons and supplies could dry up by midsummer.

But this isn’t the same Congress that approved the last big batch of money, nor is it the same set of circumstances.

This time around, any late-summer proposal by the White House could run up against the raging debate over the debt ceiling."

Probably malfunction and didnt hit anything, as it's a hit to kill missile. If it found something, it crashed into the thing and both objects will basically explode due to sheer kinetic energy.

The Weeb union telegram account mentions that the Russians forced the battery to launch its 32 missiles and then it was hit with a Kinzhal and destroyed according to a claim by an Ukranian source.

But as with everything in this war, take it with a massive bag of salt. There has been threats against the woman who recorded the video of the Patriot launching missiles, though, some people asking for her to be doxxed and killed.

Ah yeah saw that tweet. It's ridiculous tho... if they knew Kinzhal was coming, instead of wasting those 32 missiles, might as well try to engage them. The reason why they're so smol to begin with is to handle saturation strike by multiple missiles.

What a colossal waste of potentials tbh if that source are true.

The Patriot is clearly equipped with MPQ-65 Radar, which itself an upgraded and uprated MPQ-53. It's supposed to be able to handle multiple intercepts simultaneously.

May God be with her.

Possible electronic interference. Radar could have seen many false targets.

Could have been decoys of some kind?. I do find it interesting that they haven't used Izkander as it does have penetration aids and seemed more manouverable than Kinzhal

On the other hand, I hope the Russians had an SIGINT asset in the air during this as this might provide valuable intel particularly for China and the proliferation of PAC-3's in Asia.

Maybe as there seems to be Kh-55 "decoy" got intercepted or crashed or maybe jamming. regarding Kinzhal tho, given the design lineage from Iskander/Tender. I'm kinda sure it also have penetration aids.

Well Russian A-50 will always be around, to monitor the strike and this plane have ELINT/SIGINT capability. The other aircraft would be Tu-204R.
