I'm going to give my thoughts regarding this one Mossad estimate claim.

I sincerely doubt that this is a legitimate Mossad assessment and upon reading the article, which was from a Turkish origin media, the media itself, where the claim of Mossad came from, was a relatively small and not a major news media network like for example Turkish TRT. I doubt Mossad agents would like to spill the beans on some local and small media network.
do you think TRT will publish such thing consider Turkey relation with Ukraine. Both Turkey and Israel do things for there Mideast policies.

what will be motive of VP of Somaliland apart from showing his presence.

Russia accuses United States of inciting Ukraine to escalate the war

Russia says U.S. is directly involved in Ukraine war
Cites comments on Crimea strikes from U.S. diplomat
Says attacks on Crimea risk dangerous escalation

MOSCOW, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Russia on Friday accused the United States of inciting Ukraine to escalate the war by condoning attacks on Crimea, warning that Washington was now directly involved in the conflict because "crazy people" had dreams of defeating Russia.

That reminds me of 湘军, 淮军, 甘军 etc. in late Qing dynasty. They were not part of the official state army system (green banner and eight banner), but recruited and established by people who were not even government officials but only later appointed. They fought better than the state army. In today's concept, they would be called PMC. But among Chinese they are just part of the army like green banner and eight banner.

I think the notion of PMC is just a western attempt to demonize Wagner due to the reputation of Blackwater etc. Wagner in essence is like elite/special unit in the army with better training and equipment and specialized in urban warfare.

He is Zeng Guofan (曾国藩) reincarnation.

Would French Foreign Legion be consider PWC as well ? .. kind of, I think. The same way for Gurkha too

Legion is part of the French Army and the Gurkhas is more of a group of people from a certain region. Neither falls into the PWC category.

In term of pay, how much difference between Wagner and Russian army for similar role ?

The minimum for mobilized troops is $2700-2800 per month for the Russians. Contract soldiers are likely paid higher. Wagner was like $3000-5000 per month depending on source with one saying up to $10,000 but that was likely a very specific position. News reports do say that both the Russians and Wagner offer bonuses as well.

This claim has appeared in numerous articles in the US/UK mass media. "anonymous Ukrainian official"

Source: Foreign Policy, citing a Ukrainian military official, speaking on condition of anonymity

Quote: "Russia has also begun arming up and digging in for a coming offensive. The Ukrainian military estimates that Russia already has 1,800 tanks, 3,950 armoured vehicles, 2,700 artillery systems, 810 Soviet-era multiple-rocket-launch systems such as Grad and Smerch, 400 fighter jets, and 300 helicopters ready for a new wave of attacks."

"Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that he expected a surge in Russian operations around the upcoming anniversary of the invasion on 24 February."

The latter part of this video explains how the different Russian military districts are responsible for each different front. For example, the Zaporizhya front is by the Southern Military District. The area from Ugledar to Donetsk is handled by the Eastern Military District which includes the Russian Marines of the Pacific Fleet, along with the DPR. The Western, Northern and Central Military Districts are handling the Svatovo and Kremennaya fronts. The Bakhmut front is handled by Wagner, although the video didn't explain, it is also handled by Russian Aerospace forces which answer directly to their commander, Gen. Surovikin, along with the Chechens and the LPR.

Just a quick detour from the normal operation of the thread, given that we are approaching the 1 year mark:

With about 1 year since the war started, I wanted to highlight why they say that war is a disaster for a nation, constantly drawing its wealth.

If we go by averages, and with a simple estimation. Lets say every day in the war it costs Russia $200 million (ammo consumption, ordinance, logistics, maintenance, compensation for dead/wounded etc) for its military needs.

200 × 365 (days in a year). We can say that the first year of this war has likely cost Russia:
$73 billion
Mind you, that's direct costs, not indirect (which could easily be double)

Its not only about spending all that money on war, but also the opportunity cost. Lets say Russia wasn't at war, and wanted to invest $73 billion in its civilian economy and business, imagine how much it would have developed. Now you can see how damaging a war is for a country

This is why, certain famous people (lol), have always said to finish a war quickly. The more time you spend on this, the more your strength will weaken, and the more the opportunity costs you accrue as not the whole planet is at war. Other countries at peace continue to invest in their economies while you have to spend your money for war.
