Not sure why you insist on making these irrelevant comparisons.
The Vietnam War was the most recent war in which the US faced a near-peer adversary, the other being Korea. While Vietnam by itself could not have hoped to stand against the US, it was supported by both Russia and China in equipment and manpower.
These are extremely similar circumstances to the current Ukraine war.
While the comparisons between the Ukrainian conflict and other conflicts are extremely interesting, they are starting to go off topic. Please give your last opinions/stances and return to the topic on hand.

Not entirely clear why they say "ukraine bought trucks" when it was done by the UK and USA obivously.
Anyway, it means that USA blended the military trafick into the civilian one, using up the reluctance of Russians to attack civilian infrastructure.
The cost of the move is most likelly few hundred million euro, cost of an used 25 m3 trailer is around 10-20 k .
There has been a lot of mobilisations from Ukraine, but I think the real litmus test whether the regime is truly on its last legs when it comes to taking losses is when they start drafting women as well.
This happened in another conflict within recent history: KMT vs. CPC civil war.
KMT dragged people out of their homes to mobilize. The end result is they lost 99.9% of their territory.
I do find it suspect how they seem to focus on certain regions that might not be firmly pro-Ukranian. Videos of people dragged from the streets of Lviv or Ternopil seem rare in comparisson

What is the actual point of these forces conscriptions? People who fight like that to not get drafted will desert the first chance they get anyways.
Most likelly the drafting units has a number that they need to deliver.
If they fail to do so then they will go to the frontline, and replaced with a more willing unit.
And they don't need willing persons, they need meatbags to be in the trenches, dig if needed and represent an obstacle.
Nothing more. Probably they will receive an old gun without ammunition, to avoid any risk .
According to this analyst, Russia has built more defensive structures in the south than around Svatovo. This makes sense, because this is the only place where Russia could suffer a catastrophic defeat. Russia is taking extra steps to prevent a catastrophe here.
