The War in the Ukraine

France becomes the first country to send western manufactured tanks to Ukraine.
AMX-10RC aren't that bad, at least it has thermals. Logistically though, what a nightmare.

Western SPG's already have issues going back and forth for maintenance but this thing needs to be closer to the frontlines to be of any use, then there is the fact that french 105mm guns aren't compatible with NATO's standard 105mm round.

Expect some hilariously blown up AMC-10RC's guns because they got the wrong ammo.

Cellphones were banned since the start of the war, which is part of the reason why videos from the Russian troops(selfies and such) from the frontlines are relatively harder to come by than Ukranian ones.

Someone got complacent and paid the price. Like that video of a violinist in an Ukranian barrack that was uploaded with its geotags and got hit by a Kalibr the next day early in the war.
right but i imagine it would be harder to enforce this rule when you have on your hands a bunch of conscripts who did not choose to be there in the first place, combined with the fact that leadership and staff also want to call home on new years eve.

oddly i imagine the commander that authorized cellphones could have been quite popular with the troops, of course now his head is going to roll.

Seems the Russians have come up with their own ad-hoc guidance and gliding kit for the old soviet dumb bombs. At least it looks better put together than the Ukranians HARM mounts, lol.

The idea and conception already around since at least 2009 but that surely took a while for VKS eh ?

The Russian guided bombs so far are dedicated means the casings, etc is build specifically for the role, more like guided missiles.

My advice to everyone on this war.
Don't believe BOTH SIDES. They are known proven liars.

Believe what your eyes see which are territorial changes and videos.

Don't believe any official claims from both sides. They are either inflating or deflating their claims.

This has become a stalemate and a war of attrition. Whoever inflicts more damage now will be able to make gains later once fighting picks up.

The first casualty of war is truth.

The United States announced that in the near future they would again supply MLRS HIMARS to Ukraine. Apparently to compensate for the losses of heavy MLRS over the past month. Previously, the United States took the position that the current systems are sufficient, the RF Armed Forces cannot destroy them, and the desired effect is achieved. Now, instead of the usual supply of missiles, expensive MLRS are again included in the upcoming package of military supplies.

PLEASE ADD A REPUTABLE SOURCE FOR SUCH MAJOR CLAIMS

It would imply some HIMARS are destroyed or broke down.

Pretty sure the destruction of MLRS was constant throughout the war. Ukraine just has shit tons of them, not just inherited soviet stockpiles but also "new" models such as creatively mounting rockets on civilian pickup trucks.

There is major attrition and America is reluctant to send because they need the better models in case they want to create their own special operation in Asia or threaten middle eastern countries.
