The War in the Ukraine

Well, let’s see, they are already welding rocket pods to pickups; regularly terror bombed (via shells rather than suicide bombers, but given the choice, I’m sure ISIS would prefer artillery as well) civilians targets; welding tank hatches shut to ensure crews die fighting; did mass technical lemming rushes; head chopping (for cooking, which is much further than even ISIS has ever gone).

In terms of the Full-Jihadi checklist, the only thing they have not ticked off is bother Allah incessantly with Allah Akbar, but I guess Slava Ukraine is functionally the same. But welding JDAM kits to bombs is where you think they will draw the line and say not one step further?

Fair enough, but the aerodynamics of a FAB bomb with a tacked on JDAM kit must be more than questionable. Ukranian pilots will have to worry about their own bombs killing them on top of the Shaheds, their own Air Defence and the Russian Air Defece, in that order.

Thats a good point, but hardly likely to stop Ukraine from trying.

If I was them, I would weld the JDAM kit to the bottom of the bomb and have the pilots toss release them while inverted to maximise their odds of not being counted as the first AA kill by a JDAM.

Could you weld the kit to the bottom of a bomb?.

JDAM kits are not a solid unit, as far as I am aware. It consists of a tail unit, which is where the whole guidance system is stored and the "jacket" with the strakes, to be fitted on the Vietnam era Mark 80 bombs

reckons if Russia are going to open up a front from Belarus they will not head for Kiev but head south towards Zhytomyr and down to Transnistria.
This would cut the current Ukraine front lines off from resupply from Europe.

It would be a bold move though it could be disastrous for the Russians if it failed
The front lines would be expanded to 2,450KM (1,522 miles), which is the distance from Beijing to Hainan, or Moscow to London.

The logistics necessary to maintain such as vast frontline is quite enormous. And a ridiculous proposal since it suggests Russia would eventually return to Kherson, but from the opposite direction.... what!?

I cannot see them taking land in the north and west of Kiev... I could see the border following the Dnieper east bank all the way to Kherson Oblast and turning west to Transnistria. would be the best case scenario for Russia but now it seems out of reach.

The South west will be quite hard to keep for Russian forces with multiple rivers partitioning from north to south... Would be a long shot to take land west of the Dnieper, No more crossing in the south. Clearly not a lot of hope on Russia about that.

Taking all the east could be plausible, they will need to severe the part and grinding what's inside until submission. THey need to cut reinforcement over the Dnieper to achive that.

Dnieper for border is clearly the best choice that Russia have to keep ground. It's also the best for Ukraine to stop any further progressions if the Russians go full yolo.

Poland could even take some oblast (Lyev and Volysnka) to the west to make a NATO advance toward Russia.

Is this some propaganda meant to shore up morale, or do they believe that guy really shot down a cruise missile with his rusty gun?
Could be a lucky shot... some story exist of Vietnamese farmers shoting down US fighters in Vietnam. If you fill the air with bullets, one can hit the missile ot the missile can hit the bullets...

Western Overpaid "Experts": Russia is running out of missiles.
Western Mainstream Media: Russia is running out of missiles.

This is no country in this planet should trust Western think thank "experts" or Western Mainstream Media.

Ukraine made a huge mistake in considering what this overpaid people say as "intelligence advice". This is the same overpaid people who said that China will fligth their first stealth fighter in 2030.
