Looks like Zubr is undergoing weapons installation in China

Disappointed they put a pair of stock AK630s on her.

I had my heart set on a pair of '730s, that would have looked totally badass and been significantly more effective. But I suspose these things where never meant to face serious fire to start with, and the whole project is likely to have fallen way down the PLAN's priority list since the contracts were first signed, so it probably wasn't likely for the PLAN to put such top grade defences on them when the likes of the 056s didn't even get any AK630s. If ever there was a ship in the PLAN where the '630s would have been perfect for, the 056 was it.

Thing with CIWS like Type 730 is that they are big and expensive also require lots of space, thier cartridges and independent power supply require space, the are wired up separately too because the need to work when the ships power is out many things which lead to practical issues why you can't fit a CIWS on a small ships or a hovercraft for that matter

I would think for the purpose of Zubr operations maybe it's ok for AK630 and is really the practical choice

I can't tell what's been replaced, refitted and upgraded....

Radar seems to have changed.

Also what are those two small round things in front of the two AK-630. Some sort of dazzler?

Wow that indigenous Zubr is at like half completed already. So the PLAN does intend to use those behemoths on Diaoyu islands or in the SCS?
