I take it this is the 2nd Ukraine built Zubr for the PLAN?

Funny, we have talked about this for 6-7 years, and now it is happening fast.

With the one being built in China, soon there will be three. With all four, the PLAN will have a significant new sea lift capability of their Marines.

Does anyone know how many APCs and Marines the Zubr can carry? Can it carry a battalion of Marines or soldiers?

From wiki: :p

The Zubr landing craft has a cargo area of 400 square metres (4,300 sq ft), and a fuel capacity of 56 tons.[2] It can carry three main battle tanks (up to 150 tonnes), or ten armoured vehicles with 140 troops (up to 131 tonnes), or 8 armoured personnel carriers of total mass up to 115 tonnes, or 8 amphibious tanks or up to 500 troops (with 360 troops in the cargo compartment).

At full displacement the ship is capable of negotiating up to 5-degree gradients on non-equipped shores and 1.6m-high vertical walls. The Zubr remains seaworthy in conditions up to Sea State 4. The vessel has a cruising speed of 30-40 knots.

Pretty sure that's the first.

We've seen the second and third under construction in china, but that's the limit ATM. Still, if they can pump out a couple of them every year for the next few years, PLA will have a nice solid fleet of fast response vessels excellent for Taiwan, SCS or first island chain scenarios.

I wonder how well these beasts can stand up to a javelin or hellfire shot

These bememoths are useful after an assault deploying critical weapons and supplies.
nothing beat a helicopter in faster response in deploying marines on those small islands.

Each Jaeger weigh several thousand tons. And it can be lifted by few choppers.

that is actually one of the few 'technical discrepancies' that I didn't care too much for in that movie. Even if they had use a couple dozen I would've been ok even though it is still far from reality but to use like 5 or 6 Chinooks to lift 2000 tons? In reality it would've taken at least 100 chinooks to lift 2000 tones.

No helo can carry 150 tons

Reminds me of an april fool's joke a few years back, when a local Newspaper in the capitol of Wisconsin ran a fake story saying the retired battleship USS Wisconsin had been airlifted by 20 helicopters to a lake next to the capitol of Wisconsin for permenent display. Enough yokels bought the story that the Newspaper had to run a retraction.
