"Russia moved the S-300 that Syria bought and paid for to Crimea as goodwill to Israel"

---

The striking thing about the Ukrainian Gambit (1997-, 2008-, 2014-) is ...

(1) the cynicism and contempt for human life of the leaders of the Anglo-Empire who, knowing for sure what Russia's response would be, did not stop adding fuel to the bonfire because they wanted that war in which they hoped to collapse Russia with economic sanctions

(2) the kamikaze regime of kyiv (2014-) based on the furious nationalists of Volynia-Galicia who took over the entire Bolshevik Ukraine made with lands from Poland and Russia, and

(3) To see that the Russian ruling class is neither rational, nor patriotic, nor does it know how to play chess: they have preferred to sacrifice thousands of Russian soldiers rather than bother the Anglo-Empire at its weakest point: with a firm defense of Damascus and Beirut, the Anglo-Empire would have sat down to negotiate

Hama was supposed to be the last fortress of the SAA in the north, and now they are abandoning it.

At the rate of this collapse, nobody can truly help Syria. Russia, Iran, and Syria have been made as utter fools in trusting the West and Turkey so easily. Russia continues to make deals with Erdogan even when Turkish weaponry continues to kill Russians in Ukraine. In 2022, Russia moved the S-300 that Syria bought and paid for to Crimea as goodwill to Israel. The Iranian president still wants to grovel to the West to loosen their grip on sanctions. Assad transitions to a civilian economy and sat on his outdated military, refusing to talk to Erdogan, but also ignored the Erdogan's Jihadist force buildup in Idlib for months. All of them are at fault.

Then there are rumours that the IDF have amassed an armoured force in the Golan Heights, and "reconciled rebels" are picking up arms against Assad again in the south, and Damascus. So things are looking dire for Syria, Russia, and Iran axis.
SAA has been through worse times .

At the moment, there are no true alternatives to Assad. And even if there was, Russia and Iran are not in the business of regime change, especially on their own allies. The sheer incompetence of Assad and the SAA deserves severe condemnation, but looking at the bigger picture, abandoning Syria and Assad to their fate will bring worse outcomes for Russia and Iran.
Yeah . Just like there was no true alternative to Saddam but eventually with time, the country will find its way and new governance system/regime will take place. Nobody is bigger than a country or indispensable to a country. So to tie a whole country's fate to one human being is rather ridiculous and shows how incompetent and wrong that leader has been to the country to make a system that can't outlast them. Asaad leaving or dying isnt the end of syria, life goes on. Not the first or last time such things happens.

Different peoples, different times.
Peoples (and place) might be different, but do you think times are?
When was the Middle East at peace?
Do you think that after Assad is gone, everyone will just join hands and sing?
Different groups have their own agendas, no one is on the same page
Armenians and Kurds will trust the allies of the Turks? Must be kidding!
