Even the Empire is on a budget.:p Nothing like old cheap tech to do the trick.

Anybody watching Falling Skies? It just got renewed for a final season which I now can conclude the show is a failure where it's just another situation where nothing of substance happens. The characters have done nothing but react to the whims of what the alien invaders are doing. The protagonist was a history teacher before the invasion and during the first season kept on referring to the history of occupation as to believe he was going to use it in humanity's struggle to defeat the aliens. I think that sort of got lost in the show. Now in this season the "jump the shark" moment for science fiction is the tired cliché of the magic child that will save everyone. I also can see they tried to jump on the Walking Dead and Game of Thrones bandwagon by regularly killing off characters but the problem was they just killed off supporting cast where some of the primary cast should've had some fat cutting for being pointless.

Not yet, but I'm on my 3rd season of Babylon 5 right now. Still hate the Psy Corps. and the Centauries for dealing with the Shadows.

I know this is more of my generation and it involves video games but I love the Halo series on Microsoft's Xbox gaming system. But they are making a TV series that will be streamed on Xbox 1 system and Showtime. It will be produced by Steven Spielberg, and they said will have the budget equal or around that of Game of Thrones. I personally love the story line around the Halo series and had read most of the Halo books 6-7 years ago.

The Halo Legends anime was pretty good.
