News recently was a Predator reboot in the works. Clarification now is its not a reboot but a sequel from the original creator Shane Black. I guess he can't play his old character in the sequel.

Here's a video of Jean Claude Van Damme who was apparently the original Predator.

.... The actual actor in the predator suit was Kevin Philips Hall. He died years ago of cancer. Hall's face can be seen in the movie as he cameo appearances as the "Coppah" pilot. Hall was notable for his statue he was over seven feet in height and his willingness to put up with the physical demands of the role which required stunt work in heavy prosthetics. Now you are correct in one thing more of the predator scenes where the creature is camouflaged were filmed with a suit that looked totally different from the final creature. That was because they created the first red suit based on a earlier design that got the green light. Then when they saw how the finished non camouflaged version looked they tossed it but figured that the red version was going to be matted over anyway so why spend more money on a new suit for those sequences.

Some very well done CGI. Certainly (IMHO) not associated with the new Star Wars Episode VII at all...but nicely done just the same.

The Rebels are just a resentful lot that blindly follow their dead religious leader (yoda). It reminds me of that scene from The Life of Brian (Monty Python), just substitute Galactic Empire where Romans appears:

"What have the Romans ever done for us?" at which point the listeners outline all forms of positive aspects of the Roman occupation such as sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, public health, education and peace, followed by "What have the Romans ever done for us except for sanitation, medicine, education...........".

It could be two things, her white (almost) transparent dress (remember when it got wet in the garbage container) or her cinnamon bun hair.

I was watching I think was AMC news on the internet and one of the hosts mentioned that when Luke Skywalker wanted to join the academy in Star Wars, that was for the Empire. Is that how people interpreted it? Yeah being rebels you probably don't have an academy to join but from the conversation in Star Wars it sounded like Luke wanted to join the rebels especially since his friend Biggs who was part of the rebel alliance.

okay shuttles, ties, star destroyer, death star, chicken walker, camel walker.... Any one else find it odd that although all these "hovering" are around they are being escorted serviced and maintained by conventional buses, fire engines, ambulances, chase cars and security vehicles?... Guess the empire is not so big on tech share.

Kind of like the Dune universe.
