My friend called me from LA and we were talking Star Wars and he said that if JJ Abrams messes this up he'll be forever known as Jar Jar Abrams. I fell out of my seat.

I spotted this as a recommendation in your Simon Pegg video.

Well looks like Harrison Ford had plates and screws inserted to his ankle injury. If it's true the story centers on Han Solo... probably not going to see Star Wars Episode 7 until at earliest summer 2016 now.

No matter what happens it will be impossible for him to mess it up worse than the prequels.

Its not exactly comforting when the only bar set for him is don't be that bad, as opposed to do something good, just the same philosophy he had with the NuTrek movies and pretty much every project he's been a part of

There's some news that there won't be any Star Trek TV series any time soon because of some corporate restructuring of Paramount Studios. Because departments within Paramount have divided in some manner, it has supposedly created political divisions as well. The okay for a new Star Trek series has to have approval from more than one person now. This was revealed because Netflix apparently inquired to produce a Star Trek series which failed due to what happened with the restructuring.

Were they discussing about the prequel series or the ones after "ST Generations/DS 9/ & Voyager"?

I have no idea but I would believe it has to be within the Abrams universe. Studios like copying one another. So since Marvel has taken control to link up all franchises they're in control of to live all in the same universe, I would believe Paramount wants to do the same with Star Trek. Not like they weren't doing that before but because of Abrams changing everything, they would probably think it would get too confusing.

I believe it was CBS that has the rights to make a Trek TV show, though i think if they did they'd set it back in the prime universe and have nothing to do with the Abrams films simply because it would mean paying royalties to Paramount and bad Robot.
