Western neoliberal garbage fiction, especially in fantasy and sci-fi these days, is mostly about "diversity" in the sense that it pretends "conservative" forces either don't exist or have no power. They're all fantasies about what the universe would be like after the forces of liberalism have put the forces of conservatism to extinction. That's why their TV shows have become absolute garbage. It's pure wish casting. Old Star Trek openly embraces the fact that conservativism is the default force and liberal garbage is fringe. If they even accurately reflected the world as it is today, you can see that the vast majority of humanity lives in a conservative and conventional context. Hell, even the vast majority of economic activity takes place in a conservative or conventional context. For the most part, it's only the most decaying, corrupt, and disfunctional parts of the world that are about alphabet soup and DEI. In that sense, the neoliberal parts of Western and vassalized society have completely lost the plot.

I've stopped watching anything new connected to Starwars. The shows have been spoiled with neoliberal garbage and a insistence on diversity to the detriment of the plot and watchability of the shows. I've noticed that during these past few years things have taken a definite turn for the worse. It's like everything has to be turned a 180 degrees. I've noticed that in most shows nowadays (not necessarily only Star Wars shows),

1) Most professionals or people in power/in charge must be replaced with women and preferably not white.
2) Rarely do you see families with a small son. It is often always a daughter as if people do not give birth to male children anymore.
3) Daughters are spoilt brats and everything must be done to accede to her whims. Apologise constantly to her even if she is in the wrong.
4) Etc etc with diversity and the ever expanding lgbtqxyzzzzzz universe

The Acolyte season finale just started streaming. What a mess! Not sure what the point was. You have Jedi that conspired and covered up crimes they committed that would've turned them to the dark side yet they only suffered a guilty conscience. Also the Jedi here basically kidnapped children. First they say it's the law that they get to take force sensitive children from their families but then they say also that they don't force it on parents if they don't want to give up their children. Was the point was there is no absolute good or evil but everything is the middle?

R2D2 is now the first lesbian droid according to the writer… If I ever run into her I’m gonna get her to gender my automobile.

It's one thing if a company does it on their own. It's a whole other thing if another party is extorting companies for millions of dollars if they don't do what they say. I doubt a company like Disney is being extorted except that right-wing interests want to destroy Disney for their own political agenda that has nothing to with caring for what Star War fans want. They're doing what Sweet Baby Inc. is doing in the gaming world. They're just not extorting for money.

I know an independent filmmaker who personally is a right-winger and he has the same problem as what showrunner Leslye Hedland is doing to the Acolyte. It has nothing to do with politics. It's about being pretentious. It's about inserting elements that they're interested in thinking that everyone else sees it the same way when they don't. Leslye Hedland is a lesbian so of course she's going to insert gay elements into Star Wars. What I found cringe-worthy in the Acolyte was the lesbian witch dance scene. It was horrible and simple choreography and served no purpose except Leslye Headland wanted to see something like that in there. It should've went on the cutting room floor because it was that bad.

The guy I know, I've seen the movies he's made. I read his scripts for other movies he wants to make. For some reason they all have a scene where the protagonist is sitting at a bar bruting drinking a whiskey. I asked him about it and he couldn't explain it to me and he even got a little offended just from me asking. Everything in a movie is suppose explain characters or further the story along. If doesn't do that, it doesn't belong in the movie. It had to be because it was personal just like what Leslye Headland does is personal. Has anyone ever bought his movies or scripts? No. His movies are just a bunch of scenes he thinks are amazing that are just strung together. Who wants to see a scene of a guy just bruting in a bar. That's a downer. He's no different from Leslye Headland except she was lucky enough to get paid for doing it.

My biggest issue is taking already popular and established media and messing with it or making something new and trampling over established lore. It is like all these new and old directors cant make their content without fucking with the formula and gets mad when people call them out on it.

Who thought making the little mermaid black was the right thing to do? You know who...
