Anyone watching Three Body Problem on Tencent Video's YouTube channel?

I watched all 30 episodes and it was awesome. Overall faithful to the book, nailed the vibe perfectly, some of the scenes are incredible (especially ep 29 operation Guzheng, they spent 25% budget on it, jaw dropped on the floor...)

I think I fell in love with young Ye Wenjie

Just online since a few minutes ... cannot wait for it!

The problem of Dune Movies are that they are only make the adaption of the first book of Dune novel. This Dune part 2 is actually the later part of the 1st Dune novel, not the adaption of the 2nd book of Dune Novel. I don't know why they only care about the 1st book. Maybe because the story is so simple. About the good fellows Paul Atreides versus the evil Harkonen who get helped from the evil Emperor.

And maybe they avoid Dune Mesiah, because the supposedly good man Paul Atreides become an evil Emperor later on.

Denis Villeneuve is on record wanting to do a trilogy and include Dune Messiah in Part 3. Assuming that Part 2 is as good as Part 1, then it would be safe to assume that there is enough public interest and financial support for 3 Dune movies.

The first Dune book is basically a retelling of Hamlet, where a deposed young prince gathers allies to reclaim his throne.

Yes, the first book is nice and simple
The other books become too much politics and clones.

Basically like the Star Wars Ep I - III.

Honestly whether Part 2 will be as good as Part 1 isn't that relevant so much as Part 1 wasn't exactly a massive box office success ($400M worldwide against a $165M budget) to begin with.

Villeneuve is already incredibly lucky he gets to make a 'Dune Part 2' at all, considering how cash-strapped WB correctly is esp. after the Discovery merger and David Zaslav's infamous stinginess in how he runs the business.

That is to say, quality notwithstanding, if Part 2 doesn't at least break even when it finishes its theatrical run, chances are slim there would be further Dune films from either Villeneuve or a less adventurous WB (just look at all the announced revivals from Harry Potter to Lord of the Rings).
