Personaly I think the Star wars Wars line was set with the end of return of the Jedi.

No, no no.. I have a DVD with a long interview with Mr Lucas and he states that his original intent was to make nine Star Wars movies. But different factors changed his mind. Cost, fatigue and he wanted to move on.

What Lucas stated is on one of the videos in this link.

Yeah, they also said that it would be episode 7-9, that means the timeline moves forward. Otherwise they would make what? Episode 0 and episode -1? Or at least give it a new name to restart in a new timeline 2000 years before the original movies or something, like the founding of the Jedi order.

Personaly I think the Star wars Wars line was set with the end of return of the Jedi. If I was too be interested in a Starwars new movie only thing I could think of would be too go back too the Rise of the Republic, the birth of the Jedi and the Sith... A young-ling Yoda.

agree...

the story about how luke skywalker and leia was born, why and how they being separated and maybe story about young hans solo and his early adventure, that will make the whole story complete...

that is correct... Star Wars was and always have been planned right from the start a 9 chapter series. I am hoping disney will continue with that plot line. Unlike Star Trek, Superman etc.. something like Star Wars CANNOT and MUSN'T be rebooted. It HAS to continue on to Chapter 7 through 9 to truly complete the original saga.

Although I like your idea of a Han Solo story development, and previous in between episode, but I think the fans are ready for an ending and moving forward with the saga. Maybe when the final episode has been made, the Star Wars saga can always go back in time at a later date.

Here's the biggest problem with reliving the past when it comes to TV and movies... they eventually will violate what has been established before. For example, what was Han Solo like before he met up Luke and Leia and the gang? It sounds like he was a petty self-serving arrogant criminal. I think his adventures beforehand were anything but heroic. I remember watching Return of the Jedi when it first came out. My friend and I skipped school to go watch the first day, the first showing. I can remember being at the edge of my seat on whether or not Darth Vader was going to go against the Emperor and save Luke. The big bad guy we've known for three movies then turns and picks up the Emperor over his head and the theater full of other kids skipping school too leap out of their seats cheering. If they were to make a movie following previous adventures of Darth Vader today, they would have to show he had moments of humanity because no one is going to watch a movie where the bad guy just kills everyone and be evil all the time. You might say but that was Darth Vader. What makes Han Solo any different? It's the journey that the character goes through to get to the end that makes it special. So if they did a movie centered on Han beforehand, they can't escape ruining what made people like him first because it's no longer special.

Anybody a fan of Star Trek? Did anyone see in the original series where they saw what Romulans looked like for the first time in the great episode Balance of Terror? No one in the Federation had ever seen a Romulan despite fighting long wars with them. Then it turns out they look like Vulcans and some of the Enterprise crew expressed their prejudicial suspicions on Mr. Spock. Was Mr. Spock actually a Romulan spy? Did anyone watch the series Enterprise where they went back to the adventures of the first crew of the first Starship Enterprise? That show took place before the original series. We saw Romulans and they on the show saw Romulans. So now when you go back to watch Balance of Terror the suspense is ruined because you know they saw Romunlans before therefore there won't be this emotional trigger happy suspicion towards Mr. Spock. Get rid of the suspense, you ruin the drama of the storytelling.

I'm a big fan of Star Trek, more so than Star Wars because of it's clever story lines and plots. Star Wars are great for CGI on spaceships and future military equipment. I wish they would continue with the Star Trek Generation, Voyager, and DS9 series. No more prequels. I ready for the next generation to begin.

Yes.

The Original Star trek series is IMO the best Sci-Fi ever on Tv. I've seen the 79 episodes so many times I know much of the dialogue.

The best episode of the Original Star Trek series is IMO.."City on the Edge of Forever". A 33 year old Joan Collins was a co-star.

McCoy accidentally injects himself with an overdose of cordrazine, a drug which makes him exhibit signs of paranoia and madness, while treating an ailing Sulu on the Bridge. Delirious, he beams down to a nearby planet's surface, with Kirk and a landing party on his heels.

They are too late to stop the doctor from leaping through a living time machine called "The Guardian of Forever." At that moment, the U.S.S. Enterprise ceases to exist and the landing party is stranded. The Guardian explains that McCoy went back into Earth's history and changed it, thereby altering the future. Kirk and Spock go through the Guardian, to Depression-era America, a few days before McCoy is to arrive and change history.

They encounter a social worker, Edith Keeler, who helps them find work to pay for the equipment Spock requires to build a tricorder. Unknown to Kirk and Spock, Edith has taken in the recently-arrived and ill McCoy. Kirk promptly falls in love with Edith and is devastated when Spock completes his tricorder and discovers that in order to repair history, they must let Edith Keeler be killed in an auto accident. If they allow McCoy to save her — as he did before — she will start an effective pacifist movement that will delay the United States' entrance into World War II, thus allowing Hitler's Germany to develop the atomic bomb first and conquer the planet.

When the moment comes, a heartbroken Kirk stops McCoy from saving Edith, and the three officers journey back through the Guardian, where they find things as they should be again

Harrison Ford is now up to return as Han Solo with script approval. Not sure how to take that because if Ford has a ego, he might want to have a big role. Ford was looking long in the tooth with the Indiana Jones Crystal Skull fiasco. Big mistake if the new ones center around the original cast.

BTW, any Ron Moore Battlestar Galactic fans... In something like three days (you might have to check when and where) the prequel that was suppose to be a new series but never got the greenlight... the pilot which was filmed is going to be shown online cut up into 7-minute episodes at a time.
