The J-20 2001 prototype also appeared with different colored engine petals during the early days of the prototype flight testing.

Could be a a WS-13 test? Silver petals WS-13 & the other RD-93?

Might be the same silver varnish they applied on J-20's nozzles Since the WS-13 is supposedly a reverse engineered RD-93 (unlike the WS-10, which uses different core/nozzles from the AL-31), it might be really hard to tell even when WS-13s are actually installed on the aircraft.

I've seen multiple threads in the Chinese forums talking about changes to the second prototype. Seems to be talking about extending range and changes to the intakes and the tail. Not sure if it's credible or just speculating.

Someone on the Chinese boards took note of the numbering on the J-11B that crosses by after the J-31 lands. Maybe someone knows what he's talking about...
