I'm not sure about this forum because right now it says the most ever here was around 450. I hope that's just 2012. I thought I remembered at least 650 people in this forum around the J-20's emergence. I think there was like well over a thousand in Key Aviation at the time.

I was talking about CJDBY lol. Sinodefence had seen better times. When the J-20 came out I think it was around the number you reported.

I already called it few pages ago, the "Chinese copycat" is going to flood the internet, this is just the first salvo.

Because in the mind of Western observer, China can never come up anything original, even if they did, it must because they have stolen it from someone else. The collective butthurt mentality is very strong.

I remember when J20 flew while Gates was there, they got so upset at the loss of face they let loose their hounds in the western media on Hu, saying he's lost control of PLA.
Wonder which poor Chinese leader will get ripped apart this time while Panetta visits. :)

Here's some more from the same artist. I like this guy's work.

I don't know if this guy has inside info since he came out with a good guess how the J-10B came out but the first one here you can see if they added canards it looks very much like the tri-plane design that was in the pipe.

This CG has big bumps over its engines while the "real" photos above show it rather flat.

I think if it really came to that PLAN would be forced into buying some if only to keep ShenYang alive. God knows China is not going to let its second largest military aircraft manufacturer wither away.

I think it's cliche and expected. But as before when the J-20 was impossible for China, now they've relegated themselves to China is not dynamic enough for two stealth fighters which yesterday just threw all that out the window.

On a side note... does anyone know how many members does CJDB have? They have a thread on this that has already gone 43 pages in like one day.

I am a member there! Hehe... I rarely participate there though. I think that all these years I only have replied a couple of times there. What I do is that when I found something interesting here, I go back there for the original pieces and hopefully coming back again with some "indepth" knowledge from all those big shrimps. :p

Regarding who's going to buy this? I've mentioned this before... China doesn't have a track record and a reputation to overcome and most countries namely in the Middle East who would be most likely customers already have a brand name fetish for Western luxuries including arms. So China will have to do creative marketing. The US complains about how export oriented countries sell cheaper to kill the competition. Well China might have to use this tactic at a smaller scale. China might have to sell it at a cheaper cost and eat profits in the short-term to get this fighter out there. And more importantly if it can truly match Western fighters, it would be important selling to a country where they might show up at Red Flag. It's going to be out there exposed anyway. Might as well have it tangle with the best.

Well... as to who is going to buy... Pakistan is the most likely contender for the Chinese arms, and if the price is good enough, I believe Myanmar and some ASEAN countries like Indonesia will be interested. I also believe Syria and Iran will be truely interested in this plane too.
