ALL current and planned stealth fighters can carry weapons on normal hardpoints too, when stealth is not needed. In fact the weapons carried in the bays alone represent but a fraction (perhaps 1/3) of what they are truly capable of carrying.

Indeed, a good idea would be attach external fuel tank during take off and flying to the designated location, when they are used up, simply dump them for stealth performances.

Interesting that if the J-21/J-31 is a result of stolen info from Lockheed subcontractors, then why all the points of how it's different from all the F-35 sacrifices made in design. It's all superficial because you can just look at the fighter and get the same information instead of stealing it if it was that simple.

I already called it few pages ago, the "Chinese copycat" is going to flood the internet, this is just the first salvo.

Because in the mind of Western observer, China can never come up anything original, even if they did, it must because they have stolen it from someone else. The collective butthurt mentality is very strong.

Ahhh Bill I missed you!

Looks like the F-35 bashers will resort to using the J-31 as an example of "what the JSF could've been".

And...here comes all the 'it's a copy!' claims with righteous indignation from the usual sources.

Rule thumb for western fanboys and 'experts' alike. If China makes something unique, disparage it for being different from what the west has made. If it looks remotely similar, try to take credit by claiming it is a copy.

I think it's cliche and expected. But as before when the J-20 was impossible for China, now they've relegated themselves to China is not dynamic enough for two stealth fighters which yesterday just threw all that out the window.

On a side note... does anyone know how many members does CJDB have? They have a thread on this that has already gone 43 pages in like one day.

No. The mentality is that something original from China must have serious defects. Mind you, there are still people who claim canards are detrimental to stealth as if Chengdu is too incompetent to have done tests on J-20's RCS.

Now they will just use the 310 to comfort themselves and say J-20 is just a tech demonstrator parallel to the development of VF-22 and VF-23.

Easily in the 10s of thousands on an average day. Must've been in the millions when the J-20 first came out because the server ended up crashing due to the high number of visitors.

I'm not sure about this forum because right now it says the most ever here was around 450. I hope that's just 2012. I thought I remembered at least 650 people in this forum around the J-20's emergence. I think there was like well over a thousand in Key Aviation at the time.
