If America has better offers, Saudi Arabia will abandon China, look at the Philippines
What did the Philippines got or is getting from America that's far more beneficial to the overall growth of the Philippines compared to what they were supposed to theoretically would have gotten from China?

The only thing the Philippines are getting is the illusion of SECURITY provided to them by the U.S. with the latest slew of announcements regarding the new installation of military bases. The economic dimension of that agreement or increased in trade that's actually beneficial for the country are largely missing unless I have been reading different official public documents about the deal. At the end of the day, as J.Mearsheimer enunciated and publicly expressed on numerous occasions and one of those occasion was during his debate with Australia's Hugh White
America will not make any country choose between SECURITY AND ECONOMIC PROSPERITY it's a FALSE CHOICE for America will make you choose the SUICIDAL OPTION like it or not.

The days of the Marshall Plan and America's then generous but ultimately self-interested effort to assist Europe and Japan rebuild along with their economic development is finished. The America of today is simply not the behemoth it became post WWII and this is supported by America's percentage of the world's GDP, its place as the trading partner of the world, its place as a manufacturing giant in many important industries.

What America has retained is the preeminence of the almighty $$ that is currently unrivaled in the world today. We can argue about the efficacy and effectiveness of its supposed SUPREME MILITARY SUPREMACY over the Chinese since the U.S. has never truly face an adversary almost equal in every aspect (Industry, GDP, civil and military technology, population size, market size etc.)

At some point, Saudis will have to make up their mind about how they actually view Chinese technology. I assume what China wants to export here is Hualong-1 rather than CAP1400. Either way, this is a drama
I would say there's too much complicated political factors behind the deal. Like, who is getting kickbacks from who, also if China is willing to offer it's best tech or not.

When push comes to shove and it's very critical tech, Saudis have historically always taken China first, if China was serious about providing it's better products.

As Saudis have now become more trustworthy, China can open up more easily to them as well. But is this nuclear power plant a hill worth going all in on, by giving them better tech than than what SK can offer, when US still has some influence inside Saudi? That's questionable.

i think China only offers Hualong-1 right now. CAP1400 would depend on American tech licensing maybe? I'm not sure. Longer term, I see Hualong-1 as the sanction proof solution.
