Russia will create its own long-haul aircraft
Manturov: Russia intends to create its own long-range aircraft in 2028-2030
Updated IL-96 is preparing for the first flight: What has changed in the plane
Compared to the Il-96-300 Airbus, still remembered by many from the 1990s, the new model has a longer fuselage, which allows it to accommodate up to 400 passengers (instead of 300). The aircraft now has more powerful engines and more modern domestic flight and navigation equipment. At the same time, the IL-96 has a very good reputation as one of the most reliable aircraft in the world. He never got into a serious air accident with human casualties. And the main advertisement of the Il-96-300 is that President Vladimir Putin flies on it. True, “board number 1”, of course, was made on special order and heavily modified.
The "ninety-sixth" does not have two engines, like all modern airbuses, but four. This is extremely good in terms of reliability and smoothness of flight (they say that in the "ninety-sixth" cores and hypertensive patients felt better than in modern foreign-made airbuses). But the more engines, the more fuel the liner devours. And for commercial airlines that carry ordinary passengers, the economy of the liner is no less important than its reliability.
In the UAC, the Il-96-400M is called an "experimental" aircraft, its serial production is not yet planned. Presumably, as already stated earlier, at least two such liners will be created - for the special flight squad "Russia".
Recently, Manturov announced that a new wide-body aircraft would be created in Russia, and spoke about the promising development of TsAGI. Does the UAC now - after all, you are faced with a huge range of problems, tasks that need to be solved - resources for creating promising developments?
– Our colleagues from TsAGI and the Zhukovsky Research Center are working on the aircraft of the future, based on the scientific groundwork that they create. Our design engineers are also constantly working to improve existing products and new concepts. If we talk about wide-body aircraft, then, of course, Denis Valentinovich also mentioned this, the project to modernize the Il-96 aircraft, it remains on our agenda. The Il-96-400M aircraft is now preparing for the first flight. This will take place, I think, soon. The Il-96 aircraft, I am sure, has not yet said its word. In a modernized form, this is quite an interesting car. We continue negotiations with airlines. So far, we cannot boast of specific contracts, but work in this direction is underway. As for creating a version with the possibility of remotorization, we are considering these options.
But I would like to say that we are also considering a long-haul narrow-body aircraft, a kind of conditional analogue of the A321 XLR, in order to be able to fly almost non-stop from Moscow to Vladivostok. This, on the one hand, solves the issue of transport connectivity, and on the other hand, it does not require the creation of a product completely from scratch.
- I understood correctly, there is an IL-96-400M, the idea of a twin-engine version of the IL-96 on the PD-35 has not been separately removed from the agenda. And along with this, most likely, a certain version of the MS-21 is being worked out, which will be ... That is, the MS can get a long-range version?
- Yes.
Extension of the ban on export of luxury cars to all new and second-hand cars above a certain engine size (> 1.900 cm³), and all electric and hybrid vehicles
- New anti-circumvention tool: this will allow the EU to restrict the sale, supply, transfer or export of specified sanctioned goods and technology to certain third countries whose jurisdictions are considered to be at continued and particularly high risk of circumvention. This new “anti-circumvention” tool will be an exceptional and last resort measure when other individual measures and outreach by the EU to concerned third countries have been insufficient to prevent circumvention.
The price of Russia's new wheat crop with 12.5% protein content, delivered free on board (FOB) from the Black Sea in July, was assessed at the end of last week at $231 a tonne compared to $228 a tonne the previous week by the IKAR agriculture consultancy.
On Monday, the forwards for the new crop were already seen as higher - about $235 a tonne, said Dmitry Rylko, head of the agency.
The Russia-focused agricultural consultancy Sovecon raised the estimate for total Russian wheat exports in June by 200,000 tonnes to 3.2 million tonnes, compared to 1.0 million tonnes in June 2022 and 1.4 million tonnes on average.
Russia exported 1.0 million tonnes of grain last week compared to 680,000 tonnes a week earlier, including 970,000 tonnes of wheat compared to 560,000 tonnes a week earlier, Sovecon wrote in its weekly note, citing port data.
As of June 22, farmers had sown 30.5 million hectares of grains compared to 29.1 million hectares in 2022, including 13.8 million hectares of wheat. Spring sowing is almost completed. Weather conditions are improving for spring wheat, Sovecon noted.
