CG again and I checked Sina none close enough to actually make the details. The type of bolt action being shown in that CG is based on a Mauser style locking bolt action its the same basis as the operation of a Remington 700 series rifle like the USMC's M40A5 sniper rifle only the scale is larger and the M40 is not only a sniper rifle but is also a repeater with a detachable box magazine. Now there is really nothing wrong with that type of operation but for the mission and function I would have assumed use of a strait pull based bolt action. Its a little more complex but it would have simplified loading and operating the system.

That is a nice quote from Hongjian of CDF. Very informative info. It gives a good idea on the single shot bolt action for the grenade system. I am just wondering, where did the 800m range come from. I looked at other system with 20mm grenade, the range are usually 200-400m, was there any specs on the length and the overall size of the grenade info. Another question about 20mm impact grenade, does anyone know what is the comparable blast effect of similar 20mm system comparing to regular 30mm grenade. Also, I wonder what the range is on the rifle part.

I have a crazy idea for this gun, giving it bipod and quad stack 60 bullet mag. You have a LMG and grenade for suppressing fire unit.

That's a cool idea, but, as Hongjian's original post source in Chinese indicated, grenade recoil was a major design factor, which also limited the caliber of the grenade.

When both the US and South Korean Development teams imagined there Versions both also Conceptualized a belt feed gas operated Machine guns using derivative ammo. For both again they were also canceled due to rising cost and over ambitious performance requirements. That said I feel the best option for Ahho's idea would be to adapt the technology to rounds for the QBL06.

Think its from the antipiracy mission in 2013.

i dont know why everyone is so hyped about those "integrated" systems. they are heavy and not very versatile cuz you cant take off the parts that you dont need. i would never go into a CQB combat with that weapon. i think a rifle + mounted grenade launcher is the best option. hopefully Canada aint stupid enough to go with some random integrated design, i dont wanna walk with a 20lb piece of crap for miles and miles.

Well ZH-05 is only like 5 kg loaded, not much heavier than a normal battle rifle.

I think this photo is enough to prove that the grenade round is hand-loaded.

*technically* it can have a 3-5 round tube magazine beneath the bolt action in the stock, no?
