It seems the areodynamic design creates a lot of air resistance, the size seems ok, maybe around 13m.

Yea thats a big question, why are men really close to launch. If an explosion happened they would be in its path. The amount of unburned fuel on rocket would be enough to cause a massive bang.

Looks like a dummy canister used to test the cold launch system in the sub as opposed to the missile itself.

Well I did notice the odd shape of this "thing", but I also thought the possibility that the blunt tip might be a protective hood for the actual warhead, such as this one seen on an Indian K-15 MRBM:

Again I never seen any Chinese missile uses such protective hood, so it might be something else...

PLAN New submarine fleet

Was PLAN contented with its Yuan class submarine? Or they are start looking for new submarines to acquire?

I have good impression about the Project 677 Lada class submarine of the Russian Navy.

This one is better than the Kilo Class Submarines. :)

We already got a submarine thread. Moved.

The PLAN seems content with their Yuan SSKs. They're not looking to buy Amurs.

Note Yuan is a bigger sub than the Amur, 75m vs. 66m. That translates to more of everything inside.

Bigger and longer submarine = bigger target for the enemy.. :p

Do they start mass producing it?
