would be nice to someday see these expensive and often quite capable nuclear submarines actually out on patrol and sailing the seas, they just seem to sit in port, or maybe its just a confidence thing for China, maybe they dont feel ready and responsible to sail them on the high seas, but really that is what SSBNs and SSNs are for
lets hope the Type 095 SSN and Type 096 SSBN are actually fully deployed to operational status otherwise we really are looking at a serious issue here and waste of alot of money and resources and im not even sure what PLAN has learnt from developments from Type 092>Type 094>Type 096, making a new generation of sub just for the sake of a new generation isnt mean much

This reminds me of the time they're those who doubt the capabilities of the PLAN's frigates and destroyers to operate in blue waters. Now it seems like everyone of them wants to take their turns to perform anti piracy missions in international waters like nobody business.
