Yes...I PSd that pic from existing pics of the other vessels and adding in the carrier and duplicates of the 52C. No need to copyright, others can use it. Same with the overhead shot. At this point it is clearly a PS job to show only what such a group might look like...they would not be sailing in that close-nit of a formation at that speed in any case IMHO.You made that picture up? Sweet. Perhaps you should have copyrighted it or it will start circulating among the Chinese language forums.
Well, they have the two new Qiandaohu class (20,000+ tons), they have the single, large Qinghaihu (37,000 tons), and they have the two smaller vessels. So, already the PLAN has five at sea replenishment ships, three of which are very capable of supporting carrier groups. They have a good start.I take it that PLAN is also going to be adding additional AOE type support ships like the Qiandaohu class for it's carrier group? Looking at Jeff's pics that CVBG will get through a lot of fuel and food in a day and even if it's only going to be operating in the South China Sea it will need to replenish at sea regularly.
Agreed...with one exception. I believe ultimately that the accompanying frigates in the first PLAN Carrir Group will be Type 54As or Type 054s.I think, these pix will give us a good inspiration of future PLAN CBG
according to german sources these ships are train CBG operations in the south chinese sea
Here's a simulated (meaning it is not real) overhead satellite picture of what the first PLAN CBG might look like, including the Varyag, two type 052c DDGs, a type 956 DDG, a type 052B DDG, two type 054 FFGs, and two type 093 SSNs.

I had posted this on the older forum and thought I would p[ost it here too for comment. Would a 051c be in there...will there be larger, more capable area AAW DDGs or CGs?
