AFAIK only the US builds aircraft catapults capable of launching todays naval aircraft. I dont think its a easy task developing catapults, but i could be wrong.

True but they did not build them....the CdG has C13‑3 cats. Which is a shorter version of the same catapults installed on Nimitz class CVNs.

I'm not sure if NAVIR is still doing major repairs on the French catapults.

PLA Hong Kong Garrison Command was invited to USS George Washington carrier watching aircraft landing and taking off. She will stay in Hong Kong for six days R&R.
