Auxiliary fuel tanks?

Would auxiliary fuel tanks be stored in the ordnance store? Those elevators have the same size but how do they connect to the ordnance stores? Are there two decks with these stores or even four, with an elevator for each deck? How are the several types of ordnance distributed? By size, by type?
I've only questions and no information.

Next question: What ordnance carried by Su-33 or Kamov helicopter is so large that it needs such large ordnance elevators?

R-27 in its ER/EP/ET versions is almost 4,8 meters long and its max finspan is almost a full meter. Even if the fins are placed on the missile right before they're put on the plane, there's still the rear wings which have a span of 0.8 meters. Actual width of the missile rotated so its width is minimal would still be 0.6-0.7 meters.

The J-15 carries YJ-12 anti ship missiles, which is a pretty large weapon diameter-wise. And then you have the YJ-91, LS-6 bombs, and probably new Chinese guided weapons shown at Zhuhai in 2012 which can weigh up to 2000 pounds.

I thought the second photo was USN...

It is...

I stated previously that the first photo those oblong shaped objects in the desk are welded shut. Just click the bar on the photo and look at the hi-res of that photo.

I agree.. they look welded to me as well because the seams are just to narrow if it wasn't. Also if it's a functional ordnance elevator there is no painting or marking around it. It would've been painted bright color like yellow, orange/red or at least white and not low visible gray!

Auxiliary fuel tanks?

Come to think of it, I've never, ever, seen any member of the Su-27 family carry an auxiliary fuel tank, in any country's service.

It is plausible for an aircraft with exceptionally large internal fuel fraction to be be so heavy when fully fuelled that it is unable to benefit from any external aux tanks. For such an aircraft the increase in induced drag caused by the aux tanks will cost more fuel than the tanks can carry. Su-27 has an unusually large internal fuel fraction for a fighter, significantly larger than other G4 fighters.

Why is it outlined in gray at all if it is welded shut?

If it is welded shut, it would be easy to slather on some more anti-slip coating material to fill in the seam, and you won't see the hatch at all.

Exactly. I don't think it's welded shut at all. That big seam suggests that it can be opened.

I am not very familiar with russian aircraft, but I think, this SU-27K has a belly tank. At least one tank with hose would be necessary in the tanker role.
