It looks so small.... even when I look back at pictures of the Liaoning, it's but a fraction of the size. I'm very surprised how far the hanger decks will cantilever over the sides. I had no idea that the ship has such a small footprint for its size.

What could be the reason for the large hole in the fuselage to be near the front? Machinery spaces are not there. Which large-scale plant is not yet finished and will be installed there later?

If this were a USN CVN I'd say with 100% certainty that that hole will be weapons/munitions magazines from the 4th deck down to the 7th deck. I believe the same holds true for this ship.

Yeah, I feel that too. it is so small.

That was my thinking popeye.

You get a good overhead ot the stern of the ship in the two pics provided by Deino. What do you think of those?

It's hard to tell. This is a large vessel. I do feel this is a CV or LHA/LHD. Why? New member sequ pointed out that the ship is 230 meters (754 feet) long . To me that equates to and LHA/LHD type ship.

Time will tell just what this ship is.
