Look for Chinese sources first. As far as I remember, the Chinese article never mentioned about pilot deaths, just that two people sacrificed their lives. It is known that one was J-15's chief engineer. The other is unknown.

The original Chinese article is kind confusing also, it could be test pilots or engineers contributed on the Liaoning project. I remembered the J-15's chief engineer died of a heart attack.
There was also an incident where two pilots were killed with the SU-27UBK last year. But don't know if that incident have anything to do with this news.
Accidents with military aircraft do happen and unfortunately with these accidents sometimes a loss of life occurs.
As methodical as the Chinese proceed with this CV programme I hope they do not allow this accident to deter their progress in their progression in the PLAN CV programme.

-This is to honour the long time contribution from this unit
-Two pilots from this unit died on their job
-This unit made great contribution to J-15 carriar program.
In fact, the word 圆满 indicate that the two deaths were not related to J15, at least not at sea. Otherwise it cannot be called 圆满。

kwaigonegin and I know when you see those toys aboard.. that means a multitude of flight deck drills. Crash and salvage. Fire. And the always fun rig the barraciade...fun...fun...fun!

I assume the guys with the baseball cap on deck are the instructors and Chief Petty Officers? How can he or anyone hear him say anything when they had their helmet and head seat on and he seems to be screaming without a headset with all that noise going on?
