I think it's a bit over the top for a standard force LPD would have a tough time it's a carrier strike group

Typically I would expect the following

CV-16
2 x DDG
3 x FFG
1 x SSN
and a replenishmen tanker, tankers would need a FFG to gaurd it thats why I have included 3 x FFG but two would be escorts for the carrier

So a Chinese carrier strike group would have 8 warships

LPD is a shout out to Philippines and Vietnam.

Nice....
Yes, these are clearly female officer's staterooms for 3-4 jr. officers. I'd like to see the enlisted birthing. Gvein what we are seeing though, it has to be pretty nice though.

Jeff, and anyone correct me if I'm incorrect. But I do believe those are enlisted quarters. I looked up the rank on the shoulder boards.

I do not know, popeye...have not looked them up, I was just going by what Franklin posted on his post when he identified them as female officer quarters.

Berthing place at least for the female officiers.

Hell's bell's USN carrier sailors would be jealous. especially looking at the berthing. Staterooms for enlisted men? C'mon! No such thing in the USN..Nadda..

Say kwaigonegin, I don't know what division you were aboard on CVN-72 but I lived in a 167 man berthing on JFK.. trust me ..it kinda sucked. And it did not smell so good. But you get use to it.

That berthing on JFK was right under the forward mess decks..nice..

no argument there! I did say later they do look even nicer than on USN carriers LOL but I was doing more of a direct comparison with Kuznetsov since they were cut from the same steel so to speak! I guarantee you they don't look like that aboard Kunesov LOL

Makes me want to put on my old workclothes, boondockers etc and go work in the Liaoning for a couple weeks. The chow looks delicious too! I wonder if they have steak!
Don't care if they're cook on the deck or below

Feeling strange, since the Liaoning is in operation, I don't believe PLAN doesn't have plan for its second carrier. Why we don't see anything except those fanboy's dreaming CG? They should have known the Liaoning inside-out and capable to build a second one without any problem. Or just want to build something different?

Hey does anyone have any pictures from the Kuznetsov? I'd like to be able to do a direct comparison of living conditions between it and the Liaoning.

Dear all,

New Year already so its time to start work again, otherwise boss might think I am an excess.

My favourite Military Analyst programme today is the second part of the same series which I posted a few pages ago.

The first part covers the CV-16, 052Cs & 052Ds and 054As.

The seond part covers the Manvoeur 5 sea exercise, ADIZ as well as Y-20, J-10B, JH-7B and "Li Jian" unmanned aerial strike vehicle.

The two guests are the same. Due to time constrain, I cant translate the whole programme to work committment but I will summarises what Prof ZZZ comments on the conclusions; with what I think IMHO is very relevant and make logical senses to all PLA forces and us fans & hobbyists @ 40:10.

"In 2013, the PLA have been making progressive results on all sectors". He adds that for now, "it is like an 'internal' competition among the mainland, progress of all R&D projects and weaponaries are making "rocket-ed results"; However, in terms of technical maturity, technical renovation, technical synthesis and quality of manufactured "product" (weapons), there is still a gap with US-made or Japanese producted products (weapons). We (Chinese) have to be clear in our minds, although we have achieved but with a strong competitors, the gap is eminent. Therefore, we must recognise this "gap" and reduces the gap to make further progresses, this is the goal of 2014 & 2015 and so fore. To reduce this gap needs time, and we hope within these few years it would be reducing this gap progressively at an accelerated speed. Thus this will be the goal for these few years ahead."

His comments although sometimes comical and exaggerated but his views are professional and subjective which are true in most cases.
